If you like solitude and the countryside, as we do, then this cottage is perfect. Just a short journey from Beauly yet so quiet and peaceful. The beds are comfortable and cozy as are the chairs and sofa in the living room. While the kitchen is small it is well equipped. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the garden admiring the wonderful views and watching the sheep wandering by.

Driving up the driveway seemed to go on forever. When we saw the yellow door, we realised we weren’t lost. What a beautiful peaceful location. The accommodation catered for our needs. We have two very loud autistic children and they were able to express themselves fully to the sheep. Unfortunately the deer only came out while they were asleep but we got a chance to see plenty. It was a great place to use as a base and tour the area. There is definitely plenty to see and do.

Stunningly remote

We used Moalnaceap Cottage as both a base for exploring the Highlands and as a cozy retreat in itself for our honeymoon. It's a fantastic, well-maintained property with charm and privacy. We adored our time in Crash of Aigas and are already planning a return trip!

Beautiful and peaceful

We had a wonderful stay in this cottage at the top of the mountain. The home was comfortable, homely and well presented. Loved the views, the wary sheep, walking in the surrounding areas, the enclosed fireplace and the silence. Would highly recommend.

Remote and peaceful

Lovely cottage but quite remote, up a very long gravel track. Thank goodness for google maps! The cottage itself is ample in size for 4, apart from the kitchen, which is tiny. It was fine for cooking pizzas, or a one pan meal, as we were just there for a weekend, but we’d have struggled to cook for a whole week. There is no wardrobe in the twin bedroom, so we had to use the back of the door for hangers taken from the double room wardrobe. The mattresses on the single beds were good quality but haven’t been turned so they dip and slope quite steeply, meaning we could only really sleep in one position; if you turned over you ended up rolling down the slope! The cottage was spotlessly clean, well equipped with a highchair and stairgate for our toddler, and a disabled friendly fold down stool and handrail in the shower. Communication from owner and cleaner is excellent. The cottage suited our needs perfectly for a weekend visiting family.

Lovely cottage set up on the hillside away from roads. There was everything we needed for our stay. A very comfortable cottage with lovely views across the countryside. Very handy for us with our golden retrievers visiting the Guisachan Gathering in nearby Tomich

Disgusting cottage- PLEASE STAY AWAY

On arrival the smell on opening the door was disgusting, floors dirty, kitchen filthy, kitchen pots, pans, plates, cutlery absolutely disgusting not been washed, kids bed had blue throws over them that were covered in dog hair and the same room had bugs crawling over the walls, had to clean the place before letting our children in and the next morning we have to leave when my son woke up with ticks that had bitten into his stomach so stays for about 20hours instead of 4 days and the owner doesn’t care and told me if I contact her again I would get reported for harassment. I would give it a zero rating but doesn’t have that option. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS COTTAGE. Definitely one for environmental health to visit. No refund offered so had to go through my bank

Peaceful and restorative

The cottage is obviously well loved and has a marvellous feel. And location! Furniture is comfortable, kitchen has what you need (and the slow cooker was very handy!) The host was very quick to respond when we had an issue (which was dealt with efficiently and effectively). We would happily stay again!

Nice rural location

Nice property however we could have done with more towels. Two bathroom towels for two adults over five days is a bit mean. Enjoyed two takeaways from Shimla in Beauly. Best Indian food we've ever had!

Wondeful, Unique and Silent

Wonderful stay in the most unique location. The silence in the evenings was second to none, great walks in the forest (are these old mountain bike tracks?) amazing wildlife (golden eagle spotted) and most interesting historical area. Deli in Beauly was delish!

Country cottage experience

Road leading up to cottage required maintenance such as grass in middle of road poisoning/cut and overhanging trees cut back as they were scratching vehicle . Location is amazing lovely views .cleaning could be a lot more thorough but it was OK. For a house that accepts pets carpets not ideal wooden flooring more hygienic but that's just my opinion. Internal fixings and finishings need tidied up but overall it was a pleasant stay .loads of wildlife seeing red deer each morning and late evening and plenty of birds of prey. My small complaints wouldn't stop me booking this place again .
