Room was very nice staff was friendly
Was disappointed in the breakfast
There were two kinds of biscuits bacon and yogurt juice and coffee
Should have had maybe eggs and pastries
Also need to have signs up about snakes on property as I was walking on a path between cottages there was a snake on the walk way
I liked the personal touch upon check in. They give you an overview of the history of this lovely home.
Walk with you to show you tbe location of your room.
The location is close to Bay St and the historical area of downtown Beaufort. Very walkable.
The Beaufort Inn is conveniently located in the historical district. There are many choices for shopping and eating within walking distance. We took advantage of the free passes for Hunting Island State Park and used the Inn's bicycles. If I had to mention negative - the breakfast wasn't exceptional, but it was free.
The grounds are wonderful. Very nice staff. The main house's public areas and continental breakfast are quite nice.
I would rank the property as "excellent" once the rooms in the main old house where we stayed are remodeled. The rooms have a very 1994 feel to them. The wallpaper needs to be stripped off and the walls freshly painted. The bathrooms need to be upgraded with standing showers, new floor tiles, and the base boards repainted.
I'd stay at The Beaufort Inn again but in a room or cottage that's been updated.
The room and bathroom were lovely and very spacious. I also enjoyed my time in the rocking chair on the balcony. The Inn is within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping and views. Highly recommend!
So I'll make this review short and not-so-sweet. My shower did not turn on at all. Luckily, there was a separate bathtub available; however, this is inexcusable for a supposedly 5-star hotel. The room's phone was disconnected. To me, this was a safety issue. Also, the breakfast was mediocre at best. And lastly, I was only given a $50 refund for enduring this mess. I don't recommend anyone staying here.
We absolutely loved our stay this past weekend! The location was fantastic—just steps from downtown, shopping, and so many dining options. The grounds are beautiful, and we really enjoyed the second-floor porch where we caught the most refreshing breeze. Having access to the bikes was such a fun bonus, and we made great use of them!
The only small thing we noticed was that breakfast items could use a little more frequent replenishing. That said, it didn’t take away from how wonderful everything else was. We truly enjoyed our time here and would be delighted to return.
We loved the Inn as a whole. The staff was excellent and very responsive. The continental breakfast was well presented and delicious. We were within walking distance of the shopping areas and the grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The pass to Hunting Island was an unexpected bonus and well worth the trip.
Our only issues were the mustiness of the room (which was somewhat understandable given the age of the facility), and we did not receive housekeeping services the second day of our stay.
Lovely Inn and we will stay again.
The Beaufort Inn was charming & quaint. The bed was comfortable & the bath towels thick. At check in, the staff gave us a little history of the inn & showed us around the grounds. Set in the middle of the historic section of town, you can’t go wrong.
After our recent stay at The Beaufort Inn I was fully prepared to write a scathing review of the less then stellar accommodations but I first want to fully acknowledge John. I’m not sure if he was a front desk attendant or a manager but if he’s not a manager he should be. When we initially arrived at check in we were greeted by another attendant who took us to a dark, dusty two bedroom suite in what I think is the Fisher Cottage. The first thing I noticed was the musty, stale smell of the room, the worn furniture, filthy fireplace and dirty walls. We tried to ignore these shortcomings acknowledging this is an old property, but historic doesn’t excuse inadequate cleaning. From there our evening went from bad to worst once we discovered the air conditioning was inoperable and room temperature was 80 degrees and rising. In addition to the broken air conditioner the bed frame on the king bed was broken which caused the bed to droop to one side and the numerous area rugs looked as if they hadn’t been shampooed in years. After receiving no response from the 24 hr front desk we packed and fully intended to leave the next morning and find other accommodations. That’s when John showed up. John didn’t just call but he walked over to our suite and immediately apologized for what was a hot and miserable night of no sleep. After speaking briefly John returned within minutes holding the keys to our new room as well as adjusting our entire bill. In closing I must say the new room was
