I would like to clarify my rating for the staff. For the most part, the staff was very polite and helpful. The one exception being the desk clerk on the evening of March 22. What started as a casual conversation took a sudden turn when the clerk declared he knew more about the United States than Americans. After allowing this comment to pass several times, I said that many Americans are well-informed about their own country. At this point, he began quizing me with questions about American history but not giving time to respond before asking the next question. He then said, "see I lived in the U.S. for 5 years and know more about America than you." He became so belligerent, that the bellhop took him by the arm and led him back to his desk. The bellhop returned and apologized profusely. We then had a cordial chat with the bellhop. In 39 years of international travel, I have never met a ruder or more aggressive hotel staff member. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Such a wonderful property! Location perfect and the staff was professional, kind, and helpful. We reserved a room with a balcony and so happy we did! We were not in the room much but having the chance to step out on the balcony was real special for us! I highly recommend when looking for a quaint well managed hotel.

Excellent personnel including the front desk, the cleaning staff and Marina our breakfast server who always remembered that I drank green tea. The amenities were lovely including candy at the front desk, bathrobes and slippers. The property was very clean and has a perfect location close to the train station as well as for general walkability in the best parts of the city. Highly recommended!

Great hotel for a few days in Barcelona. Near the water as welll as the main shopping area. Place was clean and had everything we needed. Front staff really went over and beyond with cab reservations for our large group!

This is the second time I have stayed at this property in three months. Sadly this time I was allocated a room directly next door to where other rooms were being gutted and renovated during the day the room had all the sound effects of a building site I was moved to a room on a different floor away from the noise, but this room did not have the balcony that I had originally booked. I’m quite disappointed that there was no pre-warning that Work was taking place at the hotel as I would have booked elsewhere. It’s also worth noting that being a member of Catalonia awards means nothing if you book through Expedia.

The staff was exceptional, they clearly are the standard for others to follow. The breakfast and those responsible for the preparation and delivery are second to none; the food was outstanding. However, the staff goes above and beyond to make one’s stay a memorable one. The manager is at the forefront of this pleasant experience, kudos to her and her staff for taking great care of us. I won’t stay anywhere else upon my return.
