Very good

Please update the rooms. They are old and poor maintained. The sink is dirty, not to mention the carpet.
The hotel is very expensive so at least keep it very well cleaned.
Rooms were clean and the area was calming and quiet. Very easy to walk to Banff area where all the shops and restaurants are. Easy check in and friendly staff.
We always stayed at Red Carpet when owned by the Irvin’s - personal touch! Now there’s no reception desk, no tables in the room, only 1 nightstand, and only 1 comfortable chair! We stayed for 4 nights and really needed another chair (which they brought) and needed a small table & another night table! The beds were good and the room was nice otherwise!
Staff is nice. Rooms were kept clean. It’s an excellent location to everything. And the 3 day transit card is nice. Allows u to get to the other place a bit further out (gondola, lake Louise, Canmore, etc).
Will be staying there again.
There was no mountain view. Clearly, we were tricked with the “bait and switch” con. We were given a different room than advertised and had no response from customer service for more than five hours so got stuck with it despite a significant price difference; the whole reason we chose the “superior king” was for a view. There is no check in at the hotel, you have to go next door to a different hotel: and the service was terrible. I asked where to put a paper bag for recycling and front desk shrugged and told me to put it in the trash- this is in a national park where recycling is a bylaw. We were eventually checked in and given our key and they clearly watched us go with all our luggage in the wrong direction, struggling with bags trying to find our room until we returned to the lobby and were told we had to physically go outside into a different building that had no front desk service etc. The room is cramped yet the bathroom is huge for no reason. The room was loud because it is at the top of a stairwell and apparently not much soundproofing. Has the feel of a hostel even though the front lobby looked very nice and we paid nearly $300. Don’t waste your money. Would have been okay if price was much lower and wasn’t mis advertised as mountain view. Very disappointing.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Since refurb the rooms are great. Fridge and microwave meant we had breakfast in the room. Rocky Mountain Soap company products in bathroom were awesome. Corridors are aged so not red carpet as you would expect :) once you get in the rooms it's great. We were in 207. Love having a mountain view and we can people watch Banff Av. This particular room however, had 2 air con units and 2 cheap plastic chairs and aged carpet on the balcony. With creative placement it was okay but a little disappointed there. Room however, was awesome. Check in was at Irwin's next door, friendly and efficient. WiFi was weak and often disconnected. Went for a refreshing hot tub... Closed for maintenance .. we wished we had been told prior to our stay. Not too far from downtown at all. We've stayed several times and would stay again for sure.
