Some time out in Ariel isn't complete without a visit to Al-Eizariya, 40 kilometres to the south. From here, it'll be easy to take in Western Wall and the Temple Mount, the region's most iconic sights.

An excursion to Al Jib should definitely be on your list. It lies 30 kilometres to the south and boasts such well-known sights as Knesset, Garden Tomb and the Yad Vashem.

Walk along the shore collecting shells and feel the gentle sea breeze on your face at Gordon Beach or Frishman Beach.

You don't need to be stuck inside a car all day to see some nature. Just 35 kilometres out of Ariel, Apollonia National Park is a great place to get some fresh air. More scenic surrounds await at Migdal Afek, 20 kilometres away.
