While lastminute.com.au has an impressive list of Thailand accommodations, sadly you won't find anywhere to crash in or around Wat Luang.

But don't start ripping your hair out just yet. There are some places to base yourself in Nong Khai, which lies 30 kilometres from Wat Luang. Nong Khai hotels include the Rashmi's The Plaza Vientiane and Green Park Boutique Hotel.

Vientiane is another place where you can lay back and order up room service like a boss. Located 45 kilometres west of Wat Luang, it's where you'll find the Lao-ITEC Exhibition Centre and COPE Visitor Centre. The Settha Palace Hotel and Don Chan Palace, Hotel & Convention are just some of the great accommodation options here. Or, you could consider staying in Udon Thani, 70 kilometres to the south of Wat Luang, where you'll find the Prajaktra Design Hotel and Centara Hotel & Convention Centre Udon Thani. If you stay in Udon Thani, be sure to check out Sanjao Pu-Ya and the Udorn Sunshine Nursery.

After sleeping upright for hours, a nice warm bed at the S Park Design Hotel will feel like a dream! If that's chockers, check out the Dansavanh Vientiane Hotel. Both are pretty much on the doorstep of Wattay International Airport, which is 50 kilometres from Wat Luang's centre.

I think this is my fourth or fifth stay at The White Inn. My first stay was April 2018, and my last was just before the pandemic in September 2019. I've been travelling to Cambodia since 2022 but decided to switch back to Laos for a change. After my first stay in 2018, I recall posting something along the lines of "I can't see any reason why I'd stay someone else in Nong Khai." And I haven't. Lift has improved in speed and the cleanliness, room comfort, quietness, and staff professionalism is still five stars. I arrived earlier than expected so I left my passport for the well spoken receptionist to scan and went for lunch at one of the local restaurants. Came back. All ready to go. It may sound odd, but I'm fairly sure I've stayed in that same room at least twice before. Anyway, a comfortable, enjoyable experience with bottled water, good water pressure, and a hard comfortable bed. And the pricing is spot on, too. 700 or so Baht a night. Will return again next year.
