Vid is a place that has plenty of cool stories to tell. If you reckon your life's been a bit humdrum lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

From Vid head 100 kilometres northeast to find the exceptional city of Sarajevo. The busy streets of another fine city, Podgorica, are situated to the southeast, roughly 150 kilometres away.

Make sure you bring a picnic chair so you can enjoy a leisurely lunch by the water at Zlatni Rat Beach or Baska Voda Beach.

Head beyond Vid and you'll run into some wonderful natural sights. Just 40 kilometres away, Mljet National Park is a terrific spot to soak up some sunshine. Another sugggestion is Kravice Waterfall, 8 kilometres away from Vid.

Remember to visit the Narona Archeological Museum to reflect and immerse yourself in the local culture.

Be sure to visit other nearby attractions, such as clock tower and Hadži Alijna Mosque. These are located 9 kilometres east in Višići. Not ready to give back the hire car just yet? St James Church and Medjugorje Shrine are in Capljina, 9 kilometres to the east of Vid.

Heading to Stolac? This destination is only 30 kilometres to the east. If you're setting up base here, grab a map and circle Radimlja Necropolis, Čaršija Mosque and the Ćuprija Mosque. Also consider swinging by Inat Ćuprija and castle ruins.
