Location adjacent to S Marks Square, good front desk service, bag storage service at no cost, breakfast good variety self-service, room a little tired but everything worked, shower over small bath, good air-con, a little noisy some nights from adjacent canal bridge and other quests accessing adjacent rooms at 01:30. Location, location, location!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Royal San Marco Hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable, but most importantly was the location! Right off of San Marco Square, it was centrally located to everything we wanted to do.

The hotel is in a great area. Although the hotel is very old, it was still in great condition. However, the AC in the bedroom would not work, along with the phones in the room. When informing the front desk staff, the woman tried to argue that if the green light was turned on, it should be working. The cold air was not coming out through the vent, so we had to explain that to her and be a little more assertive, as she did seem like she wanted to help initially. Eventually they sent maintenance to our room to repair it. Service and hospitality was therefore lacking, but seems to be common in Italy. Expected better service as this was a really expensive hotel.
