Don't shoot through before you've had a squiz at the Sprookjes wonderland and the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen. Travel 35 kilometres southeast and you'll find Zwolle, a regional centre with a population of 110,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, whip out your camera and get your tourist on at Anningahof Sculpture Park, Grote Markt and Grote Kerk. The Museum De Fundatie and the Stedelijk Museum are a couple more sights that are sure to offer up some choice photo ops. The Pillows Grand Hotel Ter Borch and Bilderberg Grand Hotel Wientjes are a couple of places to stay in Zwolle.

If you want to stay near the airport when you arrive, see if you can book a room at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center or the citizenM Schiphol Airport Hotel. And if you can't be bothered looking it up, Schiphol Airport is situated 70 kilometres away from the centre of Urk.
