Sleeping up to four people, this is perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends in search of a fun lodge to call home while they discover the Lake District National Park together. Set off for a morning at the National Trust’s Fell Foot Park (2 miles) and hop aboard a rowing boats to explore Lake Windermere, or head off to the Lakeland Motor Museum (2 miles) to browse its impressive collection of 140 historic automobiles. Alternatively, head to Grasmere (18 miles), where you can visit Dove Cottage, which was once home to the poet William Wordsworth. Afterwards, take a seat in a cosy teashop to sample the village’s famous gingerbread.

From the private parking area (there’s room for two cars) make your way to your cosy retreat. Step inside and you’ll find a bright and airy open-plan living space with pretty woodland-themed decor. Relax onto the sofa and take a moment to appreciate the views through the wide glass doors. When it’s time to eat, head to the smart galley kitchen area to whip up your favourite dishes for your loved ones. Share a casual meal at the quaint dining table, before you had back to the lounge area for movie night.
