You might encounter some washed up treasures as you walk along the shoreline at Kokufu Beach.

Experience the excitement of attending a live baseball match at Hiroshima Municipal Stadium, the home turf of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. After you've roared along with their biggest fans, why not enjoy a drink with a few of them somewhere nearby? To reach the venue, head 45 kilometres northeast to Hiroshima.
Leave a cloud of white powder in your wake as you tackle the trails at Asahitengusuton Ski Area. True powder hounds will also want to check out Mizuho Highland Ski Area.
Seize the opportunity to head to other nearby sights, such as Kintaikyo Bridge and Kikko Park. You will find them 18 kilometres northwest in Iwakuni. Not ready to head back to your hotel just yet? The Hoshino Tetsuro Museum and Sazanseto Towa Road Station are in Suooshima, 20 kilometres to the southeast of Tsuzu.
About 60 kilometres to the east, Matsuyama is a place chock-full with things to do. Dogo Park, Isaniwa Shrine and the Ishite Temple are all quite close. Keep in mind, Yuzuki Castle Ruins and the Yuzuki-jo Museum are also worthwhile.

If you're feeling a bit thirsty and want to indulge in a glass of amber nectar, we suggest Asahi Premium Beer Jukusen. Grab a stool during happy hour, make some new pals and drink up!
Want to jumpstart the party? A couple of shots of junmaishu ought to do the trick! Straight up or mixed — doesn't matter!
Ask any seasoned traveller and they'll tell you that the best way to get the most from your getaway is to practise some local expressions and phrases. First of all, have a go at saying 'Konbanwa'. It means 'good evening'. 'Gomen nasai', which means 'sorry', is also rather common.
If you've got the good luck to be in Tsuzu on the 23rd of December, get ready to party! Birthday of Emperor Akihito sees crowds of people joining together to celebrate.
Like all good things in life, your trip to Tsuzu will eventually come to an end. When it's finally time to leave, say one last "後でお会いしましょう (Atode o ai shimashou)" and spend your leftover holiday allowance on some special souvenirs.
Getting to your flight on time can sometimes be an ordeal. However, you'll be right if you've got a plan. The nearest terminal, Fukuoka Airport (FUK), is 170 kilometres to the west.
