Although the hotel scene in Trampot isn't anything to get too excited about, lastminute.com.au does offer one great hotel within 30 kilometres of the main area.

Being the closet option to Trampot, Hôtel Le Richevaux is the perfect place to have a drink with fellow adventurers.

Everyone knows Aussies are pretty relaxed, so consider chilling out a little longer and checking out the Chaumont Town Hall and St. John the Baptist Basilica in Chaumont, 35 kilometres to the southwest of Trampot. If you'd like to spend a few nights in Chaumont, look into the rates at the ibis Styles Chaumont Centre Gare and Grand Hotel Terminus Reine. 40 kilometres to the southeast of Trampot you'll find Contrexeville, which is home to the Hôtel-Club Cosmos and LOGIS L'Orée du Bois. The Vittel Casino and the Vittel-Ermitage Golf are just some of the most popular points of interest to check out when visiting Contrexeville.

The Henri Poincare University, Nancy Cathedral and Nancy Hotel de Ville are just a couple of the sweet attractions on offer in Nancy. This regional centre is 65 kilometres northeast of Trampot and has a population of 110,000. Why not also see what's happening at Parc de la Pepiniere and Place Stanislas? Our check in could be described as perfunctory boarding on the brusque . Upon arrival and pressing the bell we waited a few minutes and someone came along. Didn’t introduce himself or even say “ Welcome etc”, just “what is your name, then your room number is, handed over keys and asked about breakfast. We weren’t even told about the residents lounge ( which we discovered the next morning - a bit too late by then). Rooms were moderately clean, with a couple of spiders and cobwebs in the ceiling corners and in the separate loo. One chair was stained. The bed was softer than expected but that’s down to personal choice. The property was chosen due to its location ( just a few km from motorway), but also for the peace and quiet. Alas, we were disturbed at 1am for about 20 minutes due to noisy restaurant visitors leaving the car park, without any consideration for guests. You can guess - the usual, noisy goodbyes, shouting across the car park and lots of giggling, no doubt after several glasses of wine. Unfortunately my poor French wasn’t good enough to explain the disturbance to the waitress at breakfast. So when you book, make sure to ask for a room facing the car park. Breakfast was the redeeming element as there was a cooked element including sausages, scrambled eggs and bacon. When we checked out there was no enquiry as to ‘did you enjoy your stay’ etc.
