Loved the hotel, beautiful room, great food, fantastic freindly and helpful staff. The only thing that slightly tarnishes the shine ,is the amount of construction material that seems to have been dumped around the grounds. As you drive into the property there are piles of aggregate and concrete blocks ,which are the 1st thing you see. During a walk around the grounds there are also other areas where it seems equipment and materials have been left. This didn't effect our enjoyment of this lovely old building, but it would be a 4 to 5 star if the grounds were tidied up.

Friends Meeting Weekend

Large comfortable rooms with king sized bed. Spacious bathroom with adequate toiletries. However the light over the basin was not working thus making it dark for my husband to shave. This was report to reception. No overhead lighting on the dressing table mirror either, again making it dark to apply makeup. Prior to arrival we were asked to specify a time for breakfast. There were 10 in our party. We said 8:30 am. We were served breakfast at 9:15, making a 45 minute wait. The food at lunchtime, dinner and breakfast was good. The staff we friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, would stay again, highly recammend, very nice food options. Great deco and well kept property considering its age. Very polite and helpful staff, always happy to help. If there are any issues they do there best to reslove. Great value for money!

1 night stopover

1st time visit. Smooth check in, room a good size & very clean. Had a lovely evening meal from a menu with a good selection to choose from. Pre booked breakfast, which was very enjoyable and set me up for my drive home.

Wonderful place

A Cousins reunion, welcomed by kind reception. Super comfy bed and pillows. Beautiful bar and lounge and restaurant. Dinner was delicious and served with friendly attentive staff (who then disappeared while we ate)popping back to replenish drinks etc. Breakfast was perfect. Thank you to ALL the fabulous staff.

staff outstanding so polite and helpful. on arrival they sorted me a game of golf at reduced fee. the Pro in the shop so helpful organising 2 members to play with. room very clean and tidy. breakfast fantastic !!!! would strongly recommend staying excellent value for money.

Stayed here to break a long trip so chosen based on location and price. Pleasantly surprised! Very friendly staff from reception to bar to table service. A member of house keeping helped me with my bags when I left. Food was very good and dining room spacious with an old world feel. Although I booked a single room the bed was more of a three quarter double so not cramped. Room well-equipped. Bathroom very clean. Pillows past their best and some carpets etc a bit tired but I think some renovation is planned. Wedding on but it was a Saturday and music stopped right on midnight so no complaints! Would use again if price the same.

Was absolutely lovely, the staff were so friendly especially Mark & Maddy. So nice to have plenty of milk & tbags in the room & proper spoons not those awful sticks. The only downside was the lack of quiet closing doors & our bathroom door wouldnt shut. Id definitely stay there again though

Staff are very friendly and hotel is clean. My room was very small. I found the menu limited and expensive..The food is very small portions. I had a ceaser salad and it came with 1/4 of a chicken breast and bulked out with fried bread. At checkout they did rectify this by giving a £10 refund. Breakfast was £17 which is expensive, I imagined all yummy fruits and delicious cooked breakfast and again I was disappointed the fruit offer was watermelon! I opted for the eggs Benedict which had the smallest peice of ham. Nothing like the picture!
