Tocha is a destination that has plenty of cool stories to tell. If you feel like your life's been a bit dull lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

You'll find one of Portugal's most significant cities just a couple of hours from Tocha. Lisbon District is 180 kilometres to the south.

Coimbra can be found 30 kilometres to the east and is home to some terrific things to see and do. Santa Cruz Church and Portugal dos Pequenitos alone will make the trip a memorable one. If you're not convinced yet, you should also have a look at Velha Cathedral.

What could be more enjoyable than listening to the sounds of the local bird life next to the water? Plan an outing to Nazare Beach or Live Beach for a wonderful day out.

Looking for some one-on-one time with Mother Nature? Commandeer a set of wheels and head in the direction of National Forest of Bussaco, 35 kilometres from Tocha. Alternatively, get out into the fresh air at Aveiro Salt Pans, 40 kilometres away.

Whether you're a soccer supporter or you just want to lose yourself in the gripping atmosphere, try to watch a live game at Estadio Cidade de Coimbra, the home of the Académica de Coimbra. You'll find the venue 30 kilometres away in Coimbra.

Venture outwards and find out what's happening in Cantanhede, 11 kilometres to the northeast. Many travellers come here for the Pedro Teixeira Monument and Church Plaza. Alternatively, Montemor-o-Velho is 14 kilometres to the southeast of Tocha. Head to this place for convenient access to Montemor-o-Velho Castle and Santo Antonio dos Olivais Church.

Ilhavo, 35 kilometres to the north, may be worthy of a day trip. Use it as a base when visiting Costa Nova Beach, Barra Beach and the Fabrica de Porcelana da Vista Alegre. If you're still not convinced, other nearby attractions include Mini-golfe da Gafanha da Encarnacao and Forte da Barra.

It's always sad to say "Adeus" to Tocha, but don't worry, it's not going anywhere!
