Even though there aren't any hotels in Takakushi itself, there are 2 options within 30 kilometres where you can hit the sack (and maybe hit the mini bar).

After pressing that snooze button a couple of times (you're on holidays, after all!), drag yourself out of bed at Hotel Route-Inn Yatsushiro and Hotel Wing International Kumamoto Yatsushiro and you'll find yourself in Takakushi before you know it.

Still haven't discovered the perfect room? You might just find a lavish enough thread count in Kumamoto. You'll also be able to check out Yokoi Kogusu Memorial Hall and Musashizuka Park. The Hotel Nikko Kumamoto and Dormy Inn Kumamoto Natural Hot Spring are a few of the hotel options here. Or, you could consider staying in Tamana, 65 kilometres to the north of Takakushi, where you'll find the Satsuki Bessou and Tamana Onsen Hotel Shirasagi. While in Tamana, make sure you visit the Tabaruzaka Museum and Tabaruzaka Park.
