Hotel Nordjulos in Raufarhöfn is an absolute gem—cozy, clean, and quaint, with comfortable rooms that make for a restful night. But what truly sets it apart is the people. Holmsteinn (“Steinny”) has a heart of gold—so kind, charismatic, and generous. He sat with us to chat, shared stories of his family, his wife, and his grandson (who proudly carries his name), and even offered us the chance to see their fishing boat. His twin sister, Guna (forgive me if I’ve misspelled it), was just as welcoming. The kindness and sincerity they showed reflects the very best of a small village community, and as travelers, it was incredibly comforting and memorable. We left not just with a stay, but with a story to treasure. When we return to Raufarhöfn, there’s no question we’ll stay here again—and we’ll be eager to hear about Steinny and his wife’s next trip back to Spain!

We stayed in the Litla Brekka, cute little cottage. Was beautifully decorated with amazing views. Had everything we needed. The hosts were very hospitable. The Breakfast provided was amazing! Thanks to Hildur and Siggi for a lovely stay.

Property was easy to find and we were met by a very friendly host. He gave me a tour of the property which had a fully equipped kitchen, very clean bathrooms and a common area full of books. There is a small grocery store steps away.

This is a nice spot near the Arctic Circle. We only stayed for a night so we didn’t get to use any amenities but the washer which was free. The man at the front desk was very nice and had a cute puppy that he let us pet. Overall a nice experience.
