There's no need to worry though. Naju is located around 40 kilometres away and has some impressive hotels, including the Holiday Inn Gwangju and Ramada Plaza Gwangju.

Outdoorsy types should visit some of Sunji-ri's gorgeous beaches, coastal plains, rivers and mountains. A few other must-see sights are castles and traditional villages. Thirsty for more?
