Forgetting a nine a.m. meeting with your boss is a sure-fire sign that you need a holiday. So why not step off the beaten track to Stip and take in the lovely rural landscapes, beaches, rivers and lakes of F.Y.R.O. Macedonia? (The only thing you'll have to remember is how to relax!)

You can find one of F.Y.R.O. Macedonia's greatest cities just a few hours from Stip. Skopje is situated 70 kilometres to the northwest.

Lake Matka, 40 kilometres away, is the place you'll want to head if you need some fresh air and a quiet afternoon. It's definitely worth the journey.

Hang your feet from the chairlift at Osogovo Ski Resort as you decide on your next run. Alongside Osogovo Fun Park, this snow-capped wonderland offers some of the best skiing in the region.

There's even more just around the corner. Kocani, 30 kilometres to the northeast, is known for Fountain Square and Defense Tower. Though, if Small Park and Negotino Castle Museum are more appealing, travel 30 kilometres south from Stip to Negotino.

Roughly 80 kilometres to the east, Blagoevgrad is a place that has plenty to offer. The American University in Bulgaria, Church Vavedenie Bogorodichno and Bachinovo Park are all quite close. Keep in mind, Church of Vavedenie Presvetiya Bogoroditsi and the History Museum may be more your thing.
