They let us know beach was closed due to sogussum. Did not tell us about smell. But had a higher room so could not smell it from room. Just kept us from eating on site. Other wise a good trip.

completely dug out the entire beach trying to remove seaweed, creating mud and the most horrific smell ever. St Thomas island government is going to fine them and told them to stop touching the beach. It was sulfur smell on steroids, instant headache and every where in the property, I requested a refund that was denied, I even had a special team from Travelocity contact the manager of the resort. resort told me to bad dude. At the restaurant the burger in paradise tasted like a frozen patty from the discount store topped with sulfur. And top it off the stay, a fire alarm the was going off every 2 hours in our room. Again; resort doesn’t care and has no policy or common sense to do the right thing. I also wish they had to deal with my family who were sleep deprived and very angry and mean all day to me for booking this.

Beach is CLOSED, they dont tell you untill you Spend $6000 and 2 days flying there. The TV's did not work the whole week and the shuttle took an hour and 20 mins to pick us up when we had frozen items..

Mountain top pool was great, amazing view for sure. However, check in time is 4pm, arrived about 4:20 and room was not ready even that late. Cable also never worked. The restaurant for the price is not worth it, I’d advise you to venture out to some other places. Room was pretty dirty, lots of dust, and some black stuff that was removable around the walls and vents. The hot water is very mild and not “hot”. I will see the snorkeling out of that area is great and recommend doing that if you are comfortable in the water.

The property has the potential to be very nice. Restaurant is horrible. Service was horrible. Managers were just as bad as the waitress and waiters. Cocktails were overpriced and not even good. Food was well below average. The place wreaks of odor. I did not see any effort in cleanup of the seaweed issue. Golf carts that were used for transportation up and down to the rooms barely ran and almost stranded us several times. Front desk refused to add my Wyndam number to my stay. TV was inop the entire stay. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone and will not stay there again. This facility should be the flagship of Margaritaville, but fell very short

Disappointed with our stay and Margaritaville. We tried to shorten our stay at this hotel due to the significant sargassum smell and was told by the front desk clerk that the hotel and Expedia would work together to refund us for our unused nights. Sadly, Expedia informed us that the hotel refused to process the refund and would keep our payment for the unused nights. I would recommend against staying here due to the smell and unwillingness to accommodate changes in plans.

This hotel smells REALLY bad due to the seaweed buildup on the “beach”. It looks nothing like the picture, be aware and read reviews before you book!! The beach and the canal onsite is extremely dirty, and the smell is unbearable. The main pool and restaurant onsite is next to the “beach”, just imagine you are in the pool and eating next to a porta potty everyday. I was hoping to enjoy the resort, but ended up booking a bunch of excursions last minute so I can be at the resort only to sleep. Rooms are also a little old and rundown, the floor grouts are completely black. Staff was friendly honestly, but other than that, there are not really any up sides to this hotel. I would not recommend anyone booking here, do not ruin your vacation from day 1.

The roads to get there were so horrible they were almost impossible. St. Thomas is not a nice place to visit. I arrived at the gate and the guard asked me for my room number and it wasn't even in the information I got from Expedia. He let us in anyway and halfway up the drive the smell of raw sewage hit me at the volume of a dead cow. I turned around and drove back to the airport, on the wrong side of the road as is their custom and dodging very aggressive drivers the whole way. It took another day to get out of there. I had to spend more money to stay at a different resort near the airport. The Emerald resort was much much nicer, but I wouldn't make it a destination. Nothing on St. Thomas in the areas I saw was acceptable. They don't have any water except for what they can make with desalination. Avoid this place!

Was wonderful.. met with margaritas .. the golf cart staff were fast and courteous.. loved Schneider!... would come again. Only downfall was the Sargassum which we knew about and no cable the whole week.. but we survived.

The room and people were great the food was ok. We were informed when we got there that there was no TV and the beach was closed. Also the smell from the sargassum was so bad that it would take your breath away. The ability to have free shuttle service to other beaches was a great help.

The availability of taxis, closeness to shopping, food and groceries, and other beaches offers a wonderful touch. The onsite restaurant charge for convenience, not quality. We ate there as a last resort. Drinks are priced great during happy hour.
