We stayed for a week at Sandman Signature St. John’s. I usually spend about 40 nights a year in various hotels with a mix of business and pleasure and my experience here is definitely on the lower end. Check in was great with a friendly person at the front desk. The room is well worn and has not been kept in shape. A few things for example: furniture is damaged and drawers would not stay closed. Light bulbs in the room was burnt and not replaced. There is quite a bit of mold in the shower. The bathroom fan would not stay on for more than a minute before shorting out with a flash of the bathroom lights. There is more but you get the idea. Condition aside, what I was most frustrated with was on my third day of my seven day stay we got a call that woke us up (we were taking a nap after an early morning hike watching the sunrise) and it was the front desk asking us what time we are leaving. We said we had four more days to stay and they said they will look into it. We called about half an hour later to make sure they had sorted it out as we were getting concerned about what is happening. We were told there was a mistake and someone had provided the wrong room number when they requested their stay to be shortened. Another 15 minutes when by and there was a loud knock on the door. It was Amy from front desk. There was no greeting, no hello, no good morning the first thing she said was when are you checking out. This was overall a poor experience.
The Sandman is slightly disappointing. The hallway lights are caked in dust, the shower head in the room is lacklustre & the linens felt cheap.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend or return unless the rate was heavily discounted.

We originally reserved a suite with kitchenette. However, on arrival when checking in, and asking, we were able to snag a suite with a full kitchen for only $5 extra a night...we stayed for a total of 6 nights!! We were very happy with the suite. Very clean with a very comfy bed. However the sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable for sitting. And it was locked down so that you couldn't pull it out for sleeping. Also the kitchen had almost everything needed except for a large bowl. Simple coffee maker was a huge plus for me. They are my favorite! Full size microwave, fridge and stove.
Denny's is connected to the hotel so there's no need to leave the hotel to dine there. Moxie's is located there as well. Very convenient.
We very much enjoyed our stay here.
We just had an overnight stay as we were flying out very early the next morning. The location, price, and the hotel itself were perfect for what we needed.

I felt the front desk staff was inexperienced. I asked to switch rooms and the staff had to keep going to the back office to speak to the manager. I finally asked for the manager to come out and talk to me directly.
