I would have given this property a higher rating, but they rented us a room knowing that the air conditioner wasn’t working and was leaking. They had no other rooms available. It was extremely hot in the room. I did ask for a manager, but I didn’t have any contact until a week later when I called back. The manager made things right. The property decor and design was cute. The rooms were nice. The bedding was soft.

It is clear that this hotel was converted from another hotel like a Holiday Inn with little change to the actual building. Our room on the second floor had a lovely view of the neighboring Taco Bell, and it seems as though the employees were taking their smoke breaks on the first floor outside of our room. The indoor pool may have been the worst part- the windows facing out of the building had been painted a cheesy woodland theme to block out natural light. There were few other amenities, and, in fact, one night during our stay, we watched two men wheel out the only vending machine in the building. My children did enjoy the free bag of gummy worms that was left on each bed in our room upon check-in, however. Overall, for the cost, I was expecting more, especially from a company that has such elaborately themed stores.

They did not have king beds. Only double. I asked and they said when you book online you are given 2 double beds. I booked a king. I was not switched or refunded. The staff was pretty rude about it. I felt like because I didn’t book with them and I used an agency like Expedia they felt no responsibility for my stay. I will not return. Definitely not what you would expect from the Bass Pro brand.

The property touts it's pet friendly atmosphere as a booking plus. Well, their pet area is an overgrown area behind the hotel wedged between a wall and fences of private homes with ZERO lighting for after dark. It also doubles as a smoking area. Feel free to imagine my wifes surprise while trying to take our dog out after midnight and running into strange people, in complete darkness. Unsafe is a word I would use. The property has also NOT underwent the updating they advertise. The room was dirty, the sheets were dirty and it was 85 degrees upstairs at 5 p.m. It didnt even start to cool down untill 3 a.m. For a Bass Pro property we expected more. Don't advertise as pet friendly and then give us a call about complaints when our dogs bark at kids running the hallways knocking on doors. By the way, we paid the pet fee with no complaints even though I am 100% disabled veteran and my dog is my service animal. Man, I remember when Bass Pro supported the Armed Services, I guess it's just lip service until the next Veteran's Day sale right? We voiced our concerns to the attendants and they lied to Expedia to deny our refund. Stay far, far away from this property.

The lodge ia beautiful. The front desk staff were wonderful and made check in so easy. This by far was our best lodging experience of our trip. The sweet personal touches they put in our room was so thoughtful. This will be our lodging anytime we come back.
