It doesn't take long to get to the centre of Scotland from Holiday Inn Solomons-Conf Center & Marina and Hampton Inn by Hilton Lexington Park (although with beds as comfy as these, don't be surprised if you end up running a little behind schedule!)

The Fairfield Inn Lexington Park Patuxent River Naval Air Station and the Country Inn & Suites Lexington Park (Patuxent River NAS) might be what you're after. The first is 25 kilometres from town, while the other is 30 kilometres away. Cover your bases by also having a look at the Comfort Inn & Suites, 25 kilometres away.

Don't blow through before you've checked out the St. Mary's College of Maryland and Historic St. Mary's City in Lexington Park. Stratford Hall Plantation and Westmoreland State Park are popular attractions to check out when you're in Montross.

Make your way 80 kilometres north and you'll find Easton, a regional centre with a population of 16,000. While you're exploring this neck of the woods, whip out your selfie stick and get your tourist on at Easton Cycle and Sport, the Academy of the Arts and the Academy Art Museum.
