Grand theft - Felony OffenseAs we walked towards the main square, we noticed a lot of drifters, strung out people roaming aimlessly around the area. We were never out late but can assumed it gets worse later in the evening.Around 130 AM, two transients broke through the electronic gate by simply pushing it and proceeded to take almost everything out of our car. We estimate about 5,000 worth of personal belongings. We called the police and when the SFPD Officer arrived to complete a police report, he informed us there is a homeless camp with heavy drug use about two blocks from the property. This explains all the randoms roaming without purpose. We asked him if we should go down there and look for our belongings. He was adamant in his response, “don’t go down there as it is very dangerous, police don’t even go down there”. The officer said break ins happen in the area almost nightly.When we contacted the owner, Mo Elliot, he confessed he installed the electronic gate due to past theft instances. Mo said he would refund one night rental fees, he didn’t.None of these appealing attributes were mentioned in Mo’s property descriptions for obvious reasons. Who would rent knowing: masses of homeless people roaming, heavy drug usage, a crack campsite two blocks away and break ins happen almost nightly from their front door and cars?Choose your location carefully and we hope this review helps you make an informed decision.
