Arenal observatory and lodge is a biodiversity and conservation gem! We saw so many animals and plants while on the property! The accommodations were great and in line with ecotourism. Highly recommend for nature lovers!

Very nice resort. Great views - you're one on one with nature there. The private villas are the way to go. Great staff, too. They also have their own private nature trail to investigate as well. Even though there was construction going on directly behind our villa it didn't impact our 3 night stay at all. I commend them for that. The villa was very clean, the glass shower to the outdoors is very cool. Some bugs were able to make their way in but nothing unreasonable. CR construction standards can't be compared to the US but it was acceptable. You're on the side of a mountain so be prepared for some steps to get to your room. If you need rooms to be "accessible" then CR probably isn't for you. You're either going up or down to get anywhere. The convenience of being next to the Mistico Hanging Bridges was nice - one less destination to have to drive to. The included morning buffet at the Lost Iguana was fantastic. Yeah, it's a short drive away but worth it. Each day they had some variation in their breakfast offerings. The staff there was great - shout out to David! I don't know if I'd go back but if I did I know I wouldn't be disappointed.

Perfect location for adventures in the Monte Verde area, excellent staff, gorgeous views and vety well priced. Couldn't ask for more.

This is a beautiful place in the middle of the Rainforest with an impeccable view of the Arenal Volcano! The rooms are divided among separate dwellings for each group (example: 200s, 300s, etc) They offer rides to different areas of the property, but I took the opportunity to walk to must places within the property for some exercise. Nothing is really that far! Just remember to use your bug repellent when walking around outside. The view of the Volcano depends on the day. The moment I arrived, the view was stunning! The gentleman who helped with my bags and showed me the room insisted I had to take photos in that moment as he said it was the best view he'd seen in days. I'm glad I listened because within an hour the clouds had covered it. So when you see it clearly, take photos!! All of the staff here are so pleasant and very helpful. The free buffet style breakfast is wonderful. And the hot tub in the room was chef's kiss after long days of activity. There's also a spa and a gift shop that we're really nice! This place was so quiet and peaceful, especially upon walking in the morning. All you hear are the sounds of nature. I definitely recommend this place! I'd certainly stay here again.
