Things to be aware of before you book:
-Minimum age to book is 25. No exceptions.
-Not all of our neighbors are on vacation. In accordance with San Diego law, at no time of day are guests allowed to have loud gatherings, excessive noise or amplified music loud enough to bother the neighbors and other vacation renters.

Just a 30-second walk to the beach, this second floor guest apartment located behind a lovingly maintained home on one of the loveliest courts in Mission Beach. Enter through the blue Dutch door to a bright and charming rental. Built in the 1930s, the dollhouse has the original wooden floors and other charming features. Come enjoy all San Diego has to offer while staying at the Dollhouse.

Great Time in Mission Beach!

We had an awesome time at this property, just as advertised and very quite at night. Close to the boardwalk/beach and in a section of Mission Beach that is not commercial, so no noisey crowds or loud parties. We were fornuate enough to meet the owners, who were in their larger unit on the property getting ready for the season, and they were very nice and accomidating. I would definatelty stay again!

Lovely Vacation!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely 10-day vacation at the Dollhouse. It was a perfect location. We didn't rent a car, and used Lyft to easily get everywhere. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. We appreciated that it had toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc. We visited so many places from this location, such as the zoo, Midway, Balboa Park, La Jolla, and we saw so many amazing sunrises and sunsets while walking on the beach. Mission Beach is just beautiful.

Nice place!

We have family in the area so we mostly just used the place to sleep and shower. It was perfect for the five of us. The loft was bigger and more comfortable than expected, and the beds were all good. It’s a nice and quiet area, which we appreciated. Also love the proximity to the ocean.

Spring Break 2024

We had a 1hr flight delay but upon our arrival the unit was ready....totally reset the questionable start. The unit was clean and easily accessible: one block to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants, bike rentals, shops and Belmont Park. Upstairs neighbors were noisy one morning, one quick text, problem solved @6am! I didn't expect a response at all so I was extremely pleased with such a prompt response. I would recommend this property.

Location! Location! Location! Pacific paradise

Thank you Nancy for sharing your beautiful home, and to your property management being so accommodating! This was by far one of the best VRBO homes we stayed at. From location to get places, to the board walk, and easy access to go eat at great places. Also all the little amenities that you provided in your home, to all the beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas. The garage was a very nice added bonus. We rented surf boards, wet suits, and rollerblades. Our last full day we did 6 miles on the rollerblades with the stroller in tow. USS Midway was an incredible ship to go and visit could have spent a couple days there. La Jolla being so close to take the kids to see the sea lions, they loved it! From the bottom of our Wisconsin hearts, thank you so much. Well done, keep up the amazing work! Epic trip!

Family getaway to San Diego

The weather wasn't the best, but the Dollhouse was perfect and kept us warm and dry. Cozy, cute apartment with everything we needed for a quick San Diego family getaway. So nice to have a washer and dryer after time at the beach with kids! Close to everything, and the extra parking spot was a huge help. Communication was so seamless I had no reason to reach out for anything, but definitely felt that I could have at any time. Thank you!

Fantastic Beach Vacation

Greatly enjoyed our beach house near Mission Beach. We spent lots of time 100 meters away at the beach and boardwalk. Didn't need a rental, we used Uber the whole week to lots of fun destinations, including Sea World, San Diego Zoo, La Jolla and Balboa Park. The property was very comfortable for our family of five and provided excellent kitchen activity. Would definitely use again.

Sweet Location!

Just one block from the beach!! Nancy has organized and outfitted this place with everything you will need to cook, relax and enjoy the beach. All kitchen appliances and utensils are high quality, too! Even the towels are perfect. Beds are comfy. Beach decor compliments the cottage. Plenty of beach chairs and toys. Easy communication between us, Nancy, the owner, and Kimberly, the property manager. They checked to see if we had everything we needed! Seems silly to mention, but, the cottage has toilet paper, paper towels, ziplocks, spices, coffee filters, etc. And, finally, BIG BONUS-there’s garage parking AND an extra parking spot large enough for a big SUV. We will definitely come back here again!

Best Vacation Ever

We are a family of 4, and this was our first trip to San Diego. The place was fantastic! The location really made our trip, being so close to the beach, we couldn't have picked a better location. The owner and property manager were great with all of our needs, and the welcome package of information was so appreciated! The place was equipped with everything we needed for beach days, and it was nice having Belmont Park and the new playground just a short walk down the boardwalk! We couldn't have asked for a better location! We are hoping to visit again!

Great location

It was great to be just one street from the beach and close to restaurants. The property manager was helpful and we were allowed to get in a bit early. The only drawback was that it was the hottest week of the year and the unit has no AC. Not their fault but even with fans it was pretty uncomfortable during our time. I should have read the fine print better. I'm sure most of the year it would be just fine.

Great location!

The apartment was comfortable, clean and well-stocked with essentials. It was a hot week and we appreciated the ceiling fans and window fans in every room. You really can’t beat the location (steps from the beach and a short walk to Belmont Park). I was able to fit our Mazda CX-5 in the garage after several attempts to get it lined up right, so I wouldn’t try anything bigger. But the extra parking spot is super close and works for a larger car. It’s so helpful to have an extra parking spot by the beach! There is no direct ocean view from the apartment, but it’s more private than the other units - it’s upstairs over the garage so you don’t have people walking past all day. Would definitely rent this place again.
