Staff was amazing and helpful, the hotel is nicely decorated and kept clean daily. We received a bottle of water every day in the room and fresh fruit as well as a bottle of wine on our arrival. The area is very nice and safe with a lot of restaurants to choose from and was able to walk to all major attractions, would definently stay here again.

The only complaint was the lady at the front desk. She was rude throughout and at the end of the trip I had a lot of bags and she didn’t even offer to help hold the door open.

The hotel is cute and has a nice ubicación, can walk Via Vittorio easy, lots of restaurants around and bus and taxis. El hotel give you breakfast included and was very good. The staff very nice and helpful. It’s a really good option.

We had a wonderful stay at The Shire. It is a small boutique hotel. When you first arrive it can be a bit confusing. They do not have a obvious front to the hotel. Just a small sign on the side of the door next to Harry's Restaurant. If you arrive after hours press the button to be let in. Take the lift to the 1st froor. We had the large suite in the corner above Harry's. It was very comfortable. It could use a few more pieces of seating furniture in the bedroom and luggage stands, but that is minor. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was comparable to most European breakfasts. I would definitely stay there again the next time I'm in Rome.

Small rooms, but modern and updated. I wish they had a luggage rack. That’s probably my only complaint - as you get older, you kinda don’t want to bend down on the floor to unpack . They also have a lift / elevator so that was helpful !!! it is very small so there will be climbing the steps to get the second floor, which is where all the rooms are located and the breakfast was a typical European continental. (Many of the old hotels do not have lifts .) I don’t think this hotel has been here very long as most Everything looked pretty new -very safe location as well. It’s actually a more expensive part of town and several of the tour guide and other locals commented as such. That’s not why I booked it, but I did book it based on other people’s recommendations regarding how safe it was and now I know why. La bruschetta is a very casual restaurant nearby on one of the side streets and it was very good. We ate there several times super casual and quite inexpensive.

We liked pretty much everything about our stay. The room was clean, AC worked well, the free breakfast was quite good and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. In the evening the area around hotel was quiet and we always felt safe.

It’s a great location to stay in! Walkable distance to all the spots you want to visit and close to bus stops if you’re traveling a little bit further out. Very clean and relaxing room. 5 min taxi ride to the terminal.

Fantastic location. Unique hotel right above famous Harry’s bar. The only tip I would give the management is to make sure your room safes are permanently fixed to something - ours was not and could easily have been picked up and removed.

The Shire was a wonderful boutique hotel in a convenient area of Rome. It was charming and hospitable and our room was everything we expected and more. It was hip and comfortable. The staff was warm and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!

The Shire is a great deal!

Amazing location and view of Borghese Gardens and Roman wall from our room. Lots of light and very spacious and clean room. Staff was helpful and breakfast was good. Excellent value for hotel in Rome. Will stay here again. Only hallenge was the lock on entry door at night. Our key card never worked.

I was unable to sleep as there was extremely loud noise from the bar and streets below. In addition, the room as too hot and the staff was unwilling to help us make the room cooler. The hangers in the closet could only be reached if guests are well over 6’ tall. There was no makeup or other mirror available for such. The room was tastefully-designed, spacious and essentials such as the bed and bath were good. The service and hospitality were not commensurate with the price.

Overall property was ok. Room clean well maintained only a bit too small. Only one side of the bed had night stand no place to charge phone or put anything from another side of the bed. ?! Stuff very friendly helpful but a little issue with front door opening at first. Ok after few attempts. Breakfast served on cold side sandwiches with broiled eggs warm only. It could be more choices such as scrambled or egg whites. Just a suggestions. Thank you.
