Both nights the a/c didn’t work well at all!! We reported it and the staff didn’t feel it was an issue. We literally lay on top of the covers the entire night and were sweaty. Very uncomfortable

The hotel, the room and staff were lovely. We were able to check in quite early and head out to explore for the day. The location is absolutely perfect and within walking distance of all major sites. Couldn't have picked a better place to stay.

In fairness I should say that the location is excellent and the staff was personable and friendly, and did their best to help. Breakfast was served on an outdoor terrace, the most pleasant part of the hotel. However, the photo is misleading because it doesn't adequately reflect the character of the property as a whole. Our room was tiny and dingy, the minibar refrigerator did not work (with outdoor temperatures in the 90s) and was sparsely provisioned. They did replace it, but the first day we were without access to cold drinks. The safe had no operating instructions, which made it unusable, and the wi-fi was spotty. The TV showed only Italian channels, This hotel is essentially a very basic B&B, with no lobby and no public rooms in which to sit comfortably, no restaurant, not even a bar. The property is divided between two sides of the building and our side had no elevator. No telephone in the room, so to communicate with the staff you had to walk down a long flight of stairs and take the lift up to the first floor on the other side. We had a lot of luggage and had not been told about the stairs at the time of making the reservation. Had we known, we would have reserved elsewhere. In short, this was one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed in. Perhaps our expectations were too high, and it might be ok for a student or someone who just wants a simple place to sleep but we will never return there and cannot recommend it.

The Hotel Le Clarisse al Pantheon was in a great location, just a 5-minute walk from Argentine Square, a central hub for buses. I appreciated the hotel’s clean rooms with high ceilings and large windows, comfortable beds, a good shower, and plentiful towels. However, I have two major concerns. First, I was charged more than Expedia’s originally displayed price—an extra $30 per night per room—despite the personalized rate shown at booking. I had a screenshot of the expected cost but only noticed the discrepancy when reviewing my credit card statement. When I disputed it, Expedia claimed I could not rely on the quoted price since the purchase hadn’t been completed. I’m not sure what else I should have relied on because it seems to me if you give me a price, then you should honor it. I contacted the hotel, but they declined to assist, saying the dispute was solely with Expedia. This feels deceptive, and I would caution others when booking through Expedia. Second, the hotel’s entry system was unreliable at night. To enter, guests had to connect to Wi-Fi and use an intercom button, but this frequently failed, forcing us to wait for another guest to exit so we could enter. While others kindly let us in, it posed a security risk, as unauthorized individuals could do the same. We later learned we could have been provided a physical key, which would have prevented the issue.

The room and staff were excellent, in addition to the area. Hôtel was close and walkable (40 mins or less) to many major attractions (Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Vatican) and we always felt safe. Our only frustration with the property was that it has a Vikey key system which uses the hotel’s wifi via a website you need to access on your phone to unlock your door and access the building after 8:30pm. Because the wifi wasn’t always consistent, the Vikey system is a bit of a pain and sometimes took several tries to get into your room. Would prefer a swipe card system.

A small hotel, yet friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts are quite nice. Mattresses have been heavily used. Electronic locks. In city center , but moderately quiet. Lots of food, drink and historic sites nearby. Explore the churches!

When I chose the hotel, besides the location, I did so thinking it had an elevator. However, when we arrived, they sent us to another building with a huge staircase (where, by the way, my niece twisted her ankle while carrying the luggage down on the last day). There is no communication system with the front desk, and the door access system is through a cellphone, which is quite complicated. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, clean, and the breakfast is affordable and excellent. It’s well located, but the issue with the stairs was a big drawback.

convenient Hotel to be close to every tourist spot in Rome. Bus station in the street behind , but not needed if you are used to walk. Vatican City at abour 25 minutes walking, only 2 bus stops
