There's only 1 place to stay within a 10-kilometre radius of Rodi's centre, so you'll have to move faster than a kid chasing an ice cream truck if you want somewhere to stay nearby.

Move quick and bag a room at the Motel Gottardo Sud. It's the only hotel close to the main streets.

If you're still looking for a place to stay and finding it tricky, you could investigate The Chedi Andermatt or the Badus. The first is 20 kilometres away, while the second is 20 kilometres away. And be sure to remember the Hotel Forni, 11 kilometres away.

Hospental is another place where you can kick back and acquaint yourself with the room service menu. Located 19 kilometres northwest of Rodi, it's where you'll discover the Schollenen Gorge and the Airolo-Pescium Gondola. The Gasthaus Skiklub and Andermatt Swiss Alps Resort are a few of the hotel options here. Or, you could consider staying in Gordevio, 30 kilometres to the south of Rodi, where you'll find the Hotel Belvedere Locarno and Ristorante Boutique Hotel Tentazioni. While in Gordevio, set aside some time to check out Verzasca Dam and the Casino Locarno.

Get a ride 35 kilometres south and you'll find Locarno, a regional centre with a population of 15,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, hang your camera 'round your neck and get your tourist on at the Gambarogno Botanic Garden, Piazza Grande and Madonna del Sasso. The Botanischer Garten Gambarogno and the Golfclub Patriziale Ascona are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some photo ops. On the last flight to Rodi? Completely dog-tired? Then it's probably a good idea to find somewhere to stay close to the airport. The Sheraton Milan Malpensa Airport Hotel & Conference Center and the Hotel Villa Malpensa are short taxi rides from Malpensa International Airport, 95 kilometres from the centre of town.
