Life tip: Stand up, stretch, book a Carinthia hotel, grab a taxi to the airport, get on a plane, never return. Or something a bit like that. While you'll have a hard time staying in the very centre, you will find accommodation nearby. Take your pick of 2 places within 10 kilometres of Rittersdorf's heart.

If you want to base yourself close to the central streets, the Gasthof Post and Schlank Schlemmer Hotel Kürschner are fabulous choices.

You might also like to try the Falkensteiner Hotel Sonnenalpe, which is located 30 kilometres away. Angertal Ski Resort, Graukogel Mountain and Gastein Vapor Bath are just a few of the awesome things to see and do in Bad Gastein. This regional centre is 40 kilometres north of Rittersdorf and has a population of 6,000. If you've got some time up your sleeve, keep the good time rolling at Stubnerkogel Mountain and Nikolauskirche. There are a range of great hotels ready for you to book in Bad Gastein. Comfortable stay in a lovely town!

Hotel Sonne is a comfortable hotel right in the center of Lienz, a quick walk from the train and bus stations. The interior of the building itself is definitely dated and a bit austere, but that really didn’t impact my stay. My room was comfortable and had a fantastic view of the mountains. The breakfast options were great, and I appreciated that breakfast itself started at 6:00 (I’m an early riser). The staff were friendly and accommodating. I didn’t have time to try the sauna or the gym, but I’m glad they were included. The price was fair and good value.
