Book Río Naranjo hotels

This would be a great stop for a luxury stay over a few days but wasn't worth the cost or distance for a single night stay. The sites of interest are spread out over quite a distance and it's not practical to fit in a visit to more than one of them between check-in and Costa Rica's early sundown. The rooms themselves are nice but not special, the cost/value proposition is really about what sites/activities are included and how easy they make it to book tours on the Hacienda grounds. The food was great but a meal of typical "casados" (the most economical option) ran our family of four $100 CAD. The grounds are beautiful and I would recommend the hacienda to those looking for an all-inclusive, but not a short stay.

The staff was so nice. Our family booked the villa and it was lovely and right next to the beautiful pool. The restaurant has a nice menu. I highly recommend this hotel if you are traveling from Fortuna back to Iberia airport. It’s a perfect stopping point for an overnight to relax before a travel day and it is only about 45 minutes from the airport.

Matching every prior review and exceeding all expectations, The Red Sunset at Guanacaste made for a once-in-a-lifetime vacation for our family.From Patrick's first-class hosting (including arranging private night jungle walks and horseback riding through meadows and streams) to a five-star gourmet breakfast cooked just for us while we awoke overlooking Lake Arenal, we felt as if we had been given keys to our own castle for the week.Every detail of the experience has been carefully curated by the host, and he was proactive in anything that we possibly could have wondered or needed. My only regret is that we could not stay longer!

Wow what a beautiful hotel! Rio Perdido offers quiet luxury in a very natural environment. The staff were fantastic- nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly and kind. We stayed n an eat bungalow which was perfect for a couple or family of 3- huge bed, couch to chill on, lots of storage, good size bathroom and cute deck with hammocks where we sat and watched the monkeys playing in the trees. The food was delicious with lots of choices for all meals and daily specials. The setting of the hotel is spectacular- set in the forest with lots of areas for hiking and animal spotting. The highlight was the thermal river- I’ve never experienced anything like it- 3 natural thermal pools in the river where the water is fed from the nearby volcano- the hottest pool was like a hot bath! The swimming pools in the hotel are also fed from the river and therefore warm- great for relaxing but a bit small and warm for actual swimming. The hotel offers lots of activities- we did the river tubing which was great fun, and the complimentary hike and yoga( in the beautiful yoga studio in the forest). It’s quite pricey ( converting from GBP) but worth it for a few days of real relaxation in a unique location.

The breakfast was prepared by a friendly staff. The room was clean. The management is uninterested. The pool is adequate yet shallow. The waterslide is a farce.

A long and bumpy ride up to the lodge. As soon as you check in they force you to pay for breakfast as you are disoriented and tired from the ride. You are told you are not allowed to decide in the morning if you are even hungry. Paid for two for breakfast. In the morning only one could eat breakfast because the other was sick. Asked for a refund for the one, two weeks later never received it compensation. Also Couldn’t even open my balcony door because the outside smell of sewage. Paper thin walls where you could hear everything next door…Too bad as place has potential.
