The hotel is excellent. Service from all the staff was excellent. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Great location right across the street from Copacabana beach. View from the rooftop pool/bar is incredible! Great place to spend a few days in Rio. Plus if you want to go to Ipanema beach it is an easy walk of about 5 blocks. There are many restaurants within walking distance. Recommended 100%

This is not a 5 star hotel. And not well maintained. Check in time is at 3 pm we were given a room 2 hours 40 minutes latee asked why no reply. One elevator is out of order for some time were told a spare part needed must he brought from Germany so it is not working for sometime and the 2 others have an erratic behavior not to mention the delay in goimg up and down ( up to 9 minutes) we had a suite the balcony door was stuck and deemed impossible to repair by the staff, toilet was Japanese electric terrible noise for a long time after. Not once was the mikibar refilled. We were charged a 2nd time the room charge staff told us per expedia payment should be done on check in they apologized on check out their mistake still waiting for the credit to arrive. Staff not smiling or greeting guests entering they orefer to talk to each other even at the reception. Food mediocre. No this is not a 5 star experience

The hotel is clean and staff are prompt and friendly. The view of Copacabana from the room and roof deck are breathtaking. We had a few issues in our bathroom with fixtures coming loose off the wall. We called and they had it fixed immediately. Upon checkout I found it odd they added another room’s bar charge to my room’s bill. When I questioned it at checkout, the front desk associate asked if they, the other room’s guests, were my friends. Was odd to me given the receipt clearly had someone else’s name and room number on it yet the desk somehow was implying I had some responsibility to pay for it. Took a few minutes to clear that up with them.

It’s a very nice hotel, but old and needs a lot of maintenance. They have a general problem with electricity not working properly. We walked into our room, TV was working. As soon as my husband put his phone into USB outlet, all electricity in room turned off. We called maintenance, they came right away, but after 30 min fixing wires, I asked if we can be moved to another room. It took another hour for them to find another room, eventhough the hotel was very empty. Instead of getting an upgrade for our inconvenience, they put us in exact same room on different floor. New rom was under maintenance and door to bathroom did not close, but since we are a couple we didn’t care. Electricity worked at the time!!! But throughout our 3 night stay, we discovered that only 1 of 3 USB plugs worked and there were other electrical issues. Lights turned off/on by themselves. Twice they turned off while I was in the shower - all the lights in the entire room/bathroom. Then in the middle of the night they turned on by themselves - twice first night and once second night. The other issue was the AC vent at the top of the room which kept dripping on the floor and left puddles. Breakfast was excellent, huge selection, excellent service. Be prepared that the front desk staff are a bunch of kids in very strange unisex beige outfits. They smile but barely speak English. The hotel is in a good section of Copacabana beach, toward the end near Ipanema. They have a section of beach with lounge chairs

The staff is friendly and everything is clean. Breakfast isn’t cheap, but it’s very good. However, the overall condition of the hotel raises some concerns. I remember it opening just a few years ago, and given its location and style, I imagine it must be extremely expensive and challenging to maintain. Unfortunately, the quality of the finishings and upkeep already seems to be declining.

Charming, modern, not too big, with great staff and services, hotel in Copacabana, right on the beach. Has beach service and amazing roof top pool and bar. The suits are spacious, its actually 1 bedroom, since bedroom can be separated from living room eith the dliding door. Very memorable place, want to be back

Overall, Emiliano Rio was a major disappointment which honestly ruined my experience in Rio. Upon arriving, I was told that early check in was not available, and that I’d be contacted when a room was available (never happened - I had to go back and inquire over 3 hours later). During the time I was waiting for a room, I was instructed to go to the rooftop bar and sat for 20 minutes before a waiter approached me. Meanwhile, others (that clearly didn’t look like me) were attended to almost immediately. The bar area is quite small, and had at least 6-7 waiters, most of them sitting at the bar talking to one another. It isn’t hard to miss customers as they come in. Based on that experience, I decided not to purchase anything else from the hotel. But the worst part about this hotel is that THE ROOMS HAVE MOLD IN THEM WHICH IS JUST ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE!! The rooms also have this wet moldy, water damaged smell, which is ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE!! When I brought this to the attention of the hotel, they did absolutely nothing, and shrugged it off in a very condescending manner. Mold affects health - How can you call yourself a luxury hotel with such disgusting and poor conditions? I can’t believe people come here and pay thousands of dollars for nothing - I would never waste my time or money here again!
