The house was amazing! We had a week here and everything was great, we travelled without a car and the reception staff were very helpful in suggesting a reliable taxi and tips for where to go. We really enjoyed the heated pool after walking the trails! And breakfast was delicious. Everything at Volcanic Charming House was perfect

This is a wonderful place to stay! We arrived a little early but they were able to accommodate us. They gave us a tour and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. Duarte helped us book a whale watch and warned us we needed to book the thermal spring baths ahead of time. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked being able to open the windows. We could hear the ocean surf when we didn't hear the neighborhood dogs barking. We were pleasantly surprised to have shared access to a balcony with chairs and a table. Watching the sunset with a bottle of wine we purchased from the hotel was a great way to end the day. They had a decent selection of wines to choose from. The heated outdoor pool was enjoyable and the grounds were well kept. It was super nice to have kitchen access with an assigned shelf in the fridge and a cabinet with plates and glasses to use. It was clean, modern and equipped with whatever utensils you needed to cook or reheat a meal. There were 2 grocery stores within walking distance. It was a short walk to town and the beach. Parking was off street and easy. The location was central for exploring Sao Miguel. We stayed a week and were very satisfied. We highly recommend the Volcanic Charming House!

Great hotel! Staff was very friendly & the buffet breakfast each morning was excellent with many choices. Having designated, private parking for the guests was a very nice benefit. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again.

Photos and description show pool. The owner however rented out the pool one day and it was partitioned off and not available to hotels guests. I complied to the receptionist who called owner. No apology or compensation from the owner. Other than that the stay would have been nice.

This house turned into an hotel is amazing! If you are looking for a place to adventure all day and then have a quiet, comfortable, and nice evening with amazing views this is your place. My husband and I dined in every night because we loved the scenery so much. We will definitely stay again.

Our stay here was almost perfect. The staff was excellent as was the breakfast selection. We did not use the pool as hoped, but it looked beautiful. Great to have a full kitchen available to us to store and prepare food. Wish we had known this ahead of time (as well as close location to grocery store); we would definitely have planned things differently! Our room was small, but we didn't spend much time there, so not a problem. Great price/value for this stay! Good location; close enough for us to walk anywhere in town. The only thing I did not like was the see through bathroom wall, that was a deal breaker for me.

Such a beautiful space, and the staff were all extremely pleasant, kind and accommodating. We got a great tour of the property upon arrival and a wonderful and detailed explanation of suggested activities on the island, points if interest and personal recommendations. The breakfast had a great selection each morning as well. Felt like home away from home! Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

I have spent the last 30 years touring performances to different parts of the world and have stayed in at least 2 different places a month. As a designer I often find myself redesigning the accommodation where I am staying, reorganising spaces that are clumsily arranged. The apartment where we stayed was the most incredible space, beautiful and comfortable, I wished that we had stayed in this beautiful place for the whole of our 3 week residency at Ribeiro Grande. This is also the only time that I have been inspired to write a review.

The Volcanic Charming house was magical. The staff were exemplary. The grounds crew worked everyday to make the landscaping was perfect. We enjoyed the fruit trees on the property. Breakfast was lovely and had many options. I would go back for sure. Thanks for an amazing stay for my family and I.

Fantastic house with an oasis of a garden with pool. Great spacious accommodation and staff who go the extra mile to be helpful with advice and assistance with booking trips, restaurants etc. Great buffet breakfasts and easy parking. Probably the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in!

This was a great stay and beautiful property. It is walkable to the town but a bit longer of a walk - still a great location. The room updates and whole feel are so lovely. The view was fantastic as we had a ocean view. Breakfast was yummy. The pool was a bit too cold for me during June but i saw some enjoying it. The advertisement stated that there is reception 9am to 9am but noticed there was often the “we will be right back” sign up often so keep that in mind.

What an amazing place to stay, I cannot say enough great things about the Volcanic Charming House. It is such a great place to stay while visiting the Azores. From check in we were greeted with a very friendly staff that spoke english extremely well they gave us a quick tour of the place and showed up the amenities. This property is in a safe neighborhood of Riberia Grande which is conveniently located close to a lot of things to do from Waterfalls to Geo thermal Hots Springs within a 20-30 min drive. It was nice to have easy access for parking our rental car beside the building as well. While there the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable in deciding on what we should see on the island and what to do during foggy weather days. The rooms were modern and spacious and were cleaned daily. And the free breakfast every morning had everything you could ever want. I would definitely recommend this Resort to anyone visiting the island and would definitely stay here again!
