The hotel is out of the way and took some getting used to in order to find it, especially in the dark. but the journey was worth it because you got view beautiful sunsets, feed the horses that visited the property and enjoy total quiet. It was lovely
Fisherman's Village is a unique and scenic place to stay just a few minutes out of the city of Reykjavic. We arrived at sunset and it was beautiful. The rooftop hot tub and wild horses on the property were a bonus. We checked in and ate at the Viking Village, (about 10-15 minutes away) but they will provide your unit number via email once payment is received. Would definitely recommend.
Our stay here was a highlight of our trip. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful. The place was immaculately clean and convenient to plenty of sights. Iceland will forever be a part of my family's heart as we look forward to another visit to this magical place.
If I had known how peaceful and beautiful this place was, I probably would have spent my entire Iceland trip here. Waking up to the sunrise by the water and horses was a dream, and seeing the aurora borealis made the stay even more magical. Thank you for such an amazing experience
Wonderful stay and very unique. Close to the city but still feels secluded, nestled on the bay surrounded by beach and horses. Wish there were microwaves in the room but that is a minor inconvenience for a stay like this.
Gorgeous location right on the ocean. It was very charming. We enjoyed the SPA. However far from any restaurants and there was no food for purchase at the place.
Great location, however construction was pretty significant getting there. A little loud because people were using the hot tub area late at night. Restaurant not open when we were there but looks really cute. Room was a great size, right next to horses. Peninsula was great. Biggest complaint was at around 1am people were trying to open our front door and then went around to our back door. We didn't feel safe at all and was hard to go back to sleep.
I stayed at the Fisherman’s village on my last day in Iceland and it was the perfect way to end the trip. The whole surrounding area is so quiet and peaceful, you can fully relax and enjoy the scenery. I wasn’t there during aurora season but if the skies are clear and times are right you can probably view it easily from your room. There are 2 hot tubs on an elevated area and you can soak and enjoy the sunset. There isn’t much to do immediately in the area but if you have a car you can easily get to places. Would stay here again. It was a self check in hotel so there really isn’t any staff around, but there are signs everywhere and the whole process is easy
