I am sure if the timing is right, one can see northern lights here. It just happened the whole week had been cloudy, nevertheless, we love every bit of Iceland. Fantastic

Easy check-in - emailed to tell me which room and that the key was inside. This suited me, but I see that other reviewers do not like this. It was easy to find and parking was easy. Sadly we arrived once it was already dark and had to leave at 7.30am to go whalewatching so we didn't get to spend much time there. The restaurant was not open (I knew that in advance) and aside from a fridge, kettle, some tea/coffee and a couple of glasses there were no self-catering facilities (I also knew this in advance). We had a room with a kingsize bed on the ground floor and a couple of small singles on a mezzanine with a very low roof...but this was a fun place to sleep and there were powerpoints up there as well. We didn't use the hot tub as we had come straight from the Sky Lagoon, but there were dressing gowns if we had wanted to do this. Good shower as well. Would stay again, although for a bit longer!

Lovely stay (eventually) had a hiccup on the first night when someone had taken our room before we arrived! (Not good when arriving late at 9pm and just wanting to get settled)! The staff when we rang were incredibly apologetic about the mix up (not their fault) and made every effort to rectify as quickly as possible. Can’t fault the customer service. Purposely booked to be out of the way and in our 3 night stay we saw the Northern Lights each night. Perfect location (providing you have a car), beautiful clean rooms with stunning views. Already planning our next visit :-)

Great, fantastic stay

Perfect location to see the Northern lights, if stats and weather are good (not for us). Secluded area, very quiet. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Wish we could’ve came here earlier to see the surrounding areas. Made it on time just to pack and sleep and then leave the next day. We were able to see the northern lights that night. I would stay here again. Had everything we needed for the night

We absolutely loved Fishermen’s village, and booking through Orbitz was so easy and amazing. The property had everything you could want for a cozy, quiet stay not far from Reykjavik. It was very easy to drive to the city but you didn’t feel like you were in the heart of things. The place was very clean and had a very cute loft with lots of windows to help increase chances of seeing the northern lights. There was a rooftop hot tub and sauna and the staff was reachable by phone 24/7. They brought fresh towels every day. It felt modernized, yet the grass roofs and location still gave a rustic feel. 10/10 recommend this place!

Stunning location in a peaceful area not too far of a drive to Rekjavik. Well maintained, good facilities and staff really quick to respond to any questions. (Our safe had been locked open and they sorted it really quick). Just in case for some it’s a deal breaker- the peculiar 2 x single duvets on the double bed, but we can live with that short term.
