My wife and I had a decent stay at the Royal Marine, though it was a bit of a mixed bag.
The building looks magnificent, and although a little tired, has fantastic potential with some TLC. Our room was spotless, and we enjoyed paying extra for the sea view; watching the ferry terminal activity was actually quite relaxing.
However, the hotel is feeling a little run-down and in need of some modernising. We also found the breakfast disappointing, which let the experience down.
Whilst we enjoyed our visit to Dunoon, I doubt we'll be rushing back anytime soon.
