We had an issue with the amount I paid they assured that I booked a room for 2 adults and 1 baby… but I have the proof that I booked for 2 adults and 12 years old child ….and they overcharged me for my child. We had only one bed, nevertheless I’ve booked a room with 2 double beds. So after the check in they promised to fix the sofa bed at the first night, but they didn’t come so we slept very uncomfortable the first night. The second day the fix the sofa but they forgot the pillows… we had to remind them many times…

This was our 6th straycat Tropical Princess Deluxe & Caribe Princess Deluxe Resort and as always the service was great to us. People working there are amaizing and this is the main reason webare always going back. Its a home away from home for us. We see the difference once the "local people" are coming to the resort on the weekend... its the only downside..their behavior.. they will let you feel that you are not important ad them. This year the beach condition was horrible HORRIBLE never seen anything like this in my life but its the nature its the ocean.. tons of seaweed.. hotel crew was working so hard to clean it but it was so much that they were simply not able to clean it. All the Resorts around had the same situation, the whole Punta Cana looked the same from the beach side. We go back to this place because the staff is amazing, the resort and the surroundings are beautiful. We cannot wait to go back next year !

It was overall good. In August 2025, I noticed it was decently full but not overcrowded. It should be noted that there is a record amount of seaweed in that area, so the beach was disappointing. The seaweed was so bad that no one was cleaning it off, besides a tractor barely making progress at the princess hotel down the beach. I’d recommend checking the condition of the beach before booking.

The gardens/landscaping were well kept and beautiful, however, there were several areas with broken/cracked tiles in the common walkways and by the pools. My family enjoyed the wildlife and walking through the mangroves on our way to and from the lobby area! The room was comfortable with 2 separate sleeping areas including bunk beds and a king bed and 2 bathrooms. Housekeeping did a great job making sure the room was clean, however we had consistent issues getting clean towels and face cloths. The buffet seating is all open air/outdoors and there are a lot of birds that fly around the tables, often leaving behind droppings on the seats and even tables/placemats. We were always very cautious to check and make sure the table and seats were clean of bird poop before sitting. The buffet food was average at best, and the 4 a la cart restaurants we managed to get reservations for were good not great. This is not the resort for you if you're looking for exceptional fine dining, but we always found something to eat, even our picky 12 year old. We did thoroughly enjoy the coffee shop and ice cream shop. The staff was always so welcoming, the pastry selections were delicious, and the coffee drinks were amazing! Overall, we had a relaxing week away and feel it was on point as to what we paid to stay there.

La comida no era de buena calidad, y las opciones de alimento eran limitadas. El servicio de los empleados del hotel fue pobre, salvo algunas excepciones como es el caso del restaurante dominicano. En general, no repetiría en dicho hotel. The food was not of good quality, and the meal options were limited. The service provided by the hotel staff was poor, with a few exceptions such as the Dominican restaurant. Overall, I would not return to this hotel.

Dinner restaurants was poor services. The first reason is the staffs got the orders wrong and not served food that we ordered because the staffs in the spoke and understood English so poor. The second reason is we waited the ordered main dishes for about one hour after appetizers.

We really really wanted to love this stay and the hotel itself has SO much potential, unfortunately fell short and would not recommend. Sharing our honest review: Pros - Family room w bunk beds and 2 bathrooms were wonderful, most staff appear to be trying and working hard. The wildlife was all over and one of the best parts of the trip. Ice cream shop good but needs to open before 4 pm. Coffee shop was ok. Cons - Drinks were awful. We were there all week and never did find anywhere w a good beverage. Understanding its summer/tropics, breakfast/lunch buffet is not air conditioned and food quality was poor. Wash cloths are non existent had them 1/7 days. Pools were not the cleanest, many staff members rude in general, appears they may be short staffed or over worked. Last day there air stopped working and within 2 hours our room floors, doors, mirrors were dripping wet with condensation and took the rest of the night to dry, unfortunately leading to all of our clothing smelling terribly. Be prepared to eat a lot of rice/bread to fill up, restaurants were slightly below average quality. Mini bar temp was warmer than the room all week. Coming from the US, we were definitely the minority at this resort only running into 3 other US families all week all of which felt the same.

Tropical princess is my least favorite trip I have taken. Checked in and was taken to a service desk where we were told we would meet for breakfast to be given a tour of the resort. He asked for my number and said if I need anything to text/call him. The next morning he called and texted several times as we missed breakfast sleeping in. He found us and takes us to do a time share presentation that we eventually opt out of. I texted him after asking for a few things such as towels, a blanket as they gave us 2 blanket but I had 5 beds in our room(we traveled with our 11 month old infant) I received nothing from him. Towels are VERY hard to get. I had to speak to 2 housekeepers and the manager to get bath towels for our room after they didn’t clean our room or leave us any fresh towels. The food is beyond horrible. We rented a car and left the resort to eat dinner for 2 out of our 3 nights. The arcade and bowling alley is not included in the all inclusive. The shows were okay but my children did not sit to watch them. The best thing on the resort was the ice cream.

The property was clean and you always saw the staff cleaning and making sure everything was in place. The bad thing was every where you turned there was someone staff and guest staff working for the hotel looking to scam you out of money. Everyone looking to sell you something, I'm not only talking about on the beach. The hotel let in 6 different vendors that blocks every pathway (Beach, restaurants, bars, pools and even your room) to sell like trinkets and they was hound you down every time you walked by. Then they'll call you names and talk about you because you didn't buy anything. Even the hotel themselves will try to scam you with a hotel membership.

the hotel was beautiful, the beach was a disappointment a lot of sargassum they didn't clean it up. the servers were great, very kind and helpful very welcoming.the Italian restaurant la tagahlita was very good food as well as fogo the Brazilian restaurant, and the tao the Japanese restaurant as well but you need to do reservations ahead of time. but unfortunately they don't have great communication with other services. I requested laundry service and the amount wasn't disclosed clearly on what currency it was charged and they took over 3 days to give the amount do and it was on dollars which my bill came very extremely high.

Very bad maintenance, bad food. Very unprofessional staff, at the buffet one can't even get water. Staff hustling to sell upgrades and other stuff in the hotel. Food is terrible, can't get decent food anywhere in this hotel ( specially snack bars). The only good thing about this hotel is Deyanira the housekeeper, super nice and lovely with the kids. I trusted the Expedia ratings to come here, very big mistake.

The dining areas are very limited in what they serve. It was the same food every day of the week and quality of the food was poor. The only specialty restaurant that was worth dining in was the Dominican one. Bar staff was rude. Bypassing anyone not speaking spanish. Drink options were few for an all inclusive resort. They definitely need service training.
