Wistfully scrolling through old travel pics. Accidentally liking your ex's post from two years ago. All signs you need to get away stat. Get a great accommodation deal in Poumarous on lastminute.com.au, even if you've left it to the last minute. It's a little tricky to stay downtown, but you can base yourself at one of our 3 fab hotels located within 10 kilometres of the centre.

The Résidence le Beau Site and L'Auberge Basque are awesome options if you want to stay within close reach of the main areas.

After more options? The Grand Hotel Moderne is situated 25 kilometres away from the downtown area, and the Résidence Tourmalet is 25 kilometres away. The Résidence Les Balcons de la Neste, 30 kilometres away, and the Le Rex Hotel, 14 kilometres away, are some alternate options.

Pouzac is another place where you can sit back and acquaint yourself with the room service menu. Located 11 kilometres southwest of Poumarous, it's where you'll discover the Bigorre Golf Club and Pyrenees-autrement. If you've got some time up your sleeve, keep the good time rolling at Basilica of St. Pius X and Notre-Dame de l'Immaculee-Conception. Good hotel, but we had a problem with parking, which we paid for. Directions were awful. We ended up circulating a couple of times. Parking lot was very small. Location was perfect for going to the grotto.

We found this hotel overall to be comfortable. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The breakfast offerings were the same each day: cereals, pastries, pancakes, cold cuts, boiled eggs, fruit, bread for toasting, along with coffee, juices, and tea. The price for what was offered : 14€ per person was fairly reasonable. We were disappointed to discover that use of the hot tub required a significant additional fee, but since the listing had merely said one was "available, " I guess that was on us. More concerning was the unavailability of wifi in our room, which we discovered was due to our room's location. Since we had paid more to have a suite type room, with a sitting area, it was disappointing to discover that our splurge had cost us the use of wifi. Also, we had to have a space heater placed in the room as the thermostat controls were not working, but the space heater did warm the room sufficiently. It was rainy during our visit, and the hotel offered loaner umbrellas, which was kind. Parking was on street, and required payment during the day, but the tourist office told us that parking from 7 pm to 8 am was free. Hope that was true! We will likely not visit Lourdes again, but if we did, we would consider staying again, although not in the same wifi-less room.
