Book Portsmouth hotels

I've stayed in several of the "main" hotels on Ocracoke and this was my favorite stay! The room was incredibly clean and housekeeping came by daily to keep it fresh. Quiet but also conveniently located. A great stay especially for families with kids!

The staff were friendly and check in was nice and simple. The room seemed pretty clean but the shower tub spit out some muck when the sink was turned on to wash your hands. It also seemed to have a hard time to drain the water.

The hot tub is actually a whirl pool bath tub. The pictures definitely look better than in person, it has the right idea, just not executed very well. The sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom was very prominent, over all disappointing.

Perfect size for two of us and a dog. Cozy cabin was very comfortable. Kitchen was fine. No washer or dryer so you will need to pack the clothes for the time you are there. Hosts were very nice to us and we have already booked for next year. Two key features that we liked. The place was private and located on a no-through street so traffic was limited. Some of the other roads in Ocracoke have way too much traffic-even in April. However, the best thing was the location. It is a short walk to the harbor, dining and shops. There is a golf cart you can rent but really the best bet is to take or rent a bike and get a little exercise. Unless you are driving out to the beach you should never need to use your car.

Great location. Quiet and peaceful.
