The location is great, the staff is very personable, and the rooms spacious. There was a fire in the laundry room during our stay, which then left the hotel smelling of burnt toaster strudels. A couple things that could be improved…fan ventilation in the bathrooms and touch up the paint on

The hotel did not seem as listed in the photos. The bed was very worn out and had a thin topper which didnt help. The showers were hot and the coffee roasted on site was good. Wont be staying or recommending. The history about the hotel was cool, but we really feel like it lacked charm.

The staff is unbelievably amazing… Tim took great care of us! The hotel is located in the Pearl District, which is near a lot of great shopping and restaurants! It’s clean, the rooms are spacious and in a great location with friendly accommodating staff but it’s nothing extravagant! Except they have a great wine service and a bottle of wine with the room depend depending on which room you book

OK, Portland people are just different and I say that in a really good way, but the staff at the Mark Spencer Hotel are really exceptional. The hotel is very nicely located in the middle of everything downtown Portland, so everything you want to do is at walking distance. The hotel itself is just great. I stayed in the master suite and it was just fenomenal. Renovated, nice and super clean. Next time I have the opportunity to go to Portand, I would 100% stay there again,
