Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton. I had a pool view that was beautiful. I seen the moutain views from the room across the hall and would love that room next. The staff that I did come in contact with were very pleasant. The only complaints I had was that they had started remodeling and was doing construction (which I wasn’t aware of until I checked out by the guy who helped me with my bags). The last thing I wanted to hear was banging at 10am. They should of gave me notice before hand. My other complaint was that it was my bday and they did nothing to make me feel special. I stayed at the Hyatt for my bday one year and I came back to a decorated desserted cake with a personalized happy birthday. Most hotels do something special for their guest on their bday. Very disappointing. I mentioned it to the same guy who helped me with my bags on my way out and he actually did go grab me a gift pkg of some sort. It was cute but a day late. Overall I will stay there again because the views from the entire property is amazing. Exciting to see how things will look after renovations.
As a frequent guest at the Hilton Port of Spain in Trinidad (over a decade), I’ve always loved its beautiful, lush surroundings and the tropical atmosphere nestled into the hillside. It’s consistently been my favorite place to stay in Trinidad.
However, during my recent visit, I encountered some issues that need attention. Seeing towels laid out in elevators and hallways during the rain suggested some serious structural deficiencies. Additionally, a simple request for my room was never met, despite reaching out multiple times.
Despite these concerns, the Hilton Port of Spain remains a top choice, and I hope to see these improvements implemented for an even better experience in the future.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
We frequently stay at this specific property, but our most recent stay for the Mother’s Day weekend was very disappointing. Management has made some very inconvenient decisions that affected the quality of our state first of all food and beverage was very expensive almost 3 times the cost when regularly priced second leave the pool area inclusive of the pool bar, which I believe to be their greatest asset only opens on Friday through Sunday and closes at 6 PM. Thirdly, late checkout, which should be a courtesy for my honors level of travel and my American Express perks I was asked to pay $15 extra per hour. This blew me away that this would even be a consideration. The Hilton is moving in the wrong direction and this has nothing to do with Staff and Service 👔, which remained excellent but completely management
The hotel is very unusual in the fact thst it is built i to the side of a mountain, and as such is referred to as the upside-down hotel. From the lobby guests take the elevator down to their rooms!
The food is well prepared and portions are good. The breakfast buffet has lots of selections.
The outdoor patio offers a city and ocean view.
