Planning to visit Pong? Bear in mind that there is no accommodation in or close to Pong's centre.

However, Nan does offer a variety of accommodations. You'll find it 45 kilometres from Pong. Among the best hotels include the Nan Seasons Boutique Resort and Baan Nan Hotel.

An alternative place to hang your hat is Chiang Rai, which is 100 kilometres to the northwest of the heart of Pong. It is home to the Khun Korn Waterfall and the Opium House. For the price the hotel was good. I had a room on the top floor with a view of the lake. The bathroom was clean, but as usual, Asian style with no barrier between the shower and toilet. But that's not unusual. Breakfast was good. Lots of food and a decent coffee maker. Location good not far from restaurants and the lake for a stroll.
