Although there aren't any hotels in Pokho-ri's centre, there are 12 options within 30 kilometres where you can hit the hay (and perhaps hit the mini bar).

Lift your landscape photography game by visiting some of South Jeolla's incredible beaches, coastal plains, rivers and mountains. Castles, traditional villages and old towns are a few more tourist hotspots worth pulling your camera out for. Additionally, if you’ve always wanted to go mountain climbing and hiking, you'll have the opportunity to in this part of South Korea.

Another place to kick up your feet is Gwangju, which is 80 kilometres to the northeast of the heart of Pokho-ri. Here is where you'll find the Chosun University Museum of Art and May 18 Democracy Square. Gwangju places to stay include the Holiday Inn Gwangju and Ramada Plaza Gwangju.
