The check in took about 45 minutes not to mention that we had to walk to a separate building to able to check in because we made our reservation through expedia, food was terrible

Resort was good value for money. Food was good at specialty restaurants but snack bar by pool was pretty mediocre. Steak house was really delicious. The fillet was amazing and huge. Buffet had pretty good food and lots of options for breakfast and lunch. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and our room was very cool. However, my husband did overhear people complaining about issues with AC. Luckily, both the rooms that we had on the property we’re very comfortable and cool. Ramon at the snack bar was an amazing server. Too bad the food was hardly edible. Would stay here again. Lots of wildlife on the property, including mischievous monkeys. Reservations for dinner were made with a concierge.

Very nice property and staff. However my wife and I slipped and fell an a very slippery ramp. My wife scraper her forearm fairly significantly. She was attended by hotel staff but there was no follow up afterwards. Overall the floors are too slippery including the buffet area. Something should be done before someone is injured seriously.

The location is beautiful, easy access to Xcaret park, and animals were all around the hotel. Lots of walking included, it is a very large hotel. Food 3/5. The buffet had many options but nothing really stood out. Of the other restaurants, the meats restaurant was my favorite option. Staff was super nice, but very insistent on meeting with a VIP club representative to join their membership.

It will be the last time we stay here as we were not greeted as expedia vip guest, we did not get any of the perks we understood we would get being vip guest in fact we lugged our own luggage because one person said you are expedia you go to a different check in(clear across the property on foot) we get their they say no you need to be at the main lobby this is for 2 teir expedia vip guest (i was not ever told anything about there being different teirs). I asked how does one become a 2 teir and they said the number of times you stay here (but never said how many times exactly). We still were given the expedia vip bracelets (which gave us no extra perks), and we were given a basic room on the 3rd floor over looking "the gardens" however our room the plants on our balcony were all dead it was not a pleasant sight. The hotel overall runs out of hot water. I called down to the lobby they said that they know we have reservations and for us to come down to the lobby to make arrangements for a shower so not knowing what that could be we go to the lobby just for them to say "oh this is the first we are hearing of this and we do not know when the hot water will be back on" and nothing about the arrangements other than they are sorry. Why could they have not said that on the phone and why did they say this is the first of us hearing about this when i phoned them and they said to come to the lobby to make arrangements? Our refrigerator was hit and miss on restock. I have more iss

The place was absolutely stunning! Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The food was really good and the rooms were clean. This isn't a brand new and modern building, so it has some quirks, but I believe it added to the experience and the more traditional Mexican feel. The architecture is beautiful and so unique! Animals are everywhere and the lady greenery feels like you are in a jungle in paradise. Only downside is that the pools close at night, but there is a free show every night at the theatre/plaza. Can't wait to go back!
