Last two years we have been to 3 All inclusive resorts in Playacar. Occidental was didn’t even come close to meeting our expectations. Food was same thing at the buffet, not fresh, below Denny’s type food quality. We tried daily to book restaurants but it was always booked.Trash could be seen around the property not picked up. Staff was amazingly friendly. The “vacation club” concierge is beyond annoying. Once they get you to listen they then become unhelpful. Property itself was nice. Loved the monkeys.

My family and I enjoyed our stay in this resort. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We went during off season, so everything was quiet and not crowded. We traveled with an infant/toddler and we didn’t have any issues. Yes, the food is not 5 stars, but it was edible. Would definitely be back. Also, forgot, the pictures do not justify the beauty this resort is.

The resort was nice and rooms comfortable. A fair amount of wildlife to see with good snorkeling outside of the beach area. Staff was nice but very pushy about their membership. The largest disappointment was food. The same minimal offerings every day, the food didn’t look good, and made us both sick for most of the trip. I didn’t go to Mexico to eat a burger for lunch every day. Omelets were decent for breakfast and fruit was usually alright.
