If you're here physically but in mind you're living it up in Planes, it's time to take that break. Planes' downtown area doesn't have much in terms of accommodation, but you'll be able to crash in any of the 5 hotels within 10 kilometres of the action.

Get into your jammies at the La Pradella and Vacancéole - Appart Vacances Pyrénées 2000, two of the most central options available.

This regional centre is 35 kilometres west of Planes and has a population of 2,000. If you're in the area for a bit longer, continue on and check out the vibe at TSD6 Font Negre Ski Lift and TSF4 Solana Ski Lift. Breakfast was excellent, with many options. The room was big, but had an odd layout. There was a sofa in the entry room and a wardrobe. Buy in the bedroom, not a single chair...only 2 small night stands. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Another oddity is spa use. It's available by reservation for 30 minutes and you need to pick up the key at the front desk. I went down at my time and she told me the guy had not returned the key. So, we went up together and she gave me the key and told me to return in a few minutes when the guy left. So by the time I entered it was 15 minutes into my 30. So, I literally soaked for 12, which gave me time to dry off and return the key to the desk for the next reservation. It's a stupid protocol.
