Or, you could stay in Godern, 25 kilometres to the east of Perlin, where you can choose from the Waldschlösschen and Ferienpark Pinnow. Get a ride 40 kilometres northeast and you'll be in Wismar, a regional centre with a population of 45,000. While you're exploring this neck of the woods, you'll be able to whip out your selfie stick and get your tourist on at St. Nicolai Church, Wilsmer Market Square and the Hinter Dem Rathaus Gallery. Park der Solidaritaet and the University of Wismar are a few more which are sure to offer up some photo ops.
