Somewhat difficult to find, down a narrow drive. Address covered up by shrubbery. Nice carport with owner car occupying one of two spaces with uncovered parking for 2 additional cars. Nicely furnished living/kitchen with natural pine beam ceiling. Had streaming TV, Wifi, large side by side refrigerator, range, toaster/oven, microwave, pantry. There are no dry staples like salt or sugar or creamer. Comfortable queen beds in bedrooms, walk-in showers, tile sink in bathrooms, Also washer/dryer with detergent and softener provided. Nice walk down steep drive to patio with steel chairs (4 low, 3 high) on beautiful Pecos River. We enjoyed use of the property for 5 nights and would recommend it for your stay in Pecos or as a base for enjoying the nearby Pecos Wilderness.

Check in was a breeze. Tom was helpful and quick to respond. And the house was lovely. All the amenities were top notch. Comfy beds. Roomy showers. The kitchen was great. I love that there was stainless steel cookware. We stayed for 9 nights, and cooked in for 7. It was beautiful. And the river!! A quick walk down a lush grass hill to the deck over looking the river. We dined outside. We fished every morning. The kids couldn’t get enough of the water. It was truly an excellent stay by all metrics!

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay here. The location is great, close to town and lots of hiking and fishing. The house is a lovely adobe with interesting architectural details and great views from the enclosed patio/dining area.The deck by the river also has a great view and there is a large grass area that would be great for kids to play on, but there are lots of mosquitoes near dawn and dusk.We were there on a hot weekend and the A/C kept the house nice and cool.

Amazing property!

This place is beautiful and very clean and well maintained with great amenities, and great location between town and the camp sites as well. Has its own river access with a deck and grill and fire pit. The owner was very kind and quick to respond to any messages. I would highly recommend to anyone that likes to fish, hike, enjoy nature and peace and quiet

Nice spot on (close) the Pecos River near the small town of Pecos, NM. one of the best things about this place is it is only 25 minutes from Santa Fe and the exit for the museums. The stream is down the hill from the house.

Very well stocked with the things you will need. Owner is very responsive. Quiet, but it is in town and just be aware that these are typical rural New Mexico residences, all types of housing very close together. The home is comfortable but photos are not recent. Overall a relaxing stay.

Hard to review

The home inside was nice: good beds, comfortable furniture, fully stocked kitchen. We misinterpreted the pictures and thought the deck was attached to the house. Therefore we thought the river was right outside the house. The deck and the river were a ways away from the house. The pictures did show this, but it was a bit unclear. The river was muddy while we were there so it was not worth fishing (not the owners fault). We had a lot of trouble with the wifi so the internet was inconsistent. The owner said he has now ordered a new company for internet. The owner was communicative but couldn't fix the wifi situation while we were there. We didn't know anything about the town of Pecos so didn't realize it was very isolated. Not much to do for us. We had our dog with us but the instructions when we entered said not to walk on the road as there were a lot of loose dogs. This meant we had to get in the car if we wanted to take our dog somewhere. This was a pricey rental so it was a bit disappointing for us. Live and learn!

Getaway fly

The first impression of the neighborhood wasn’t the best, with dogs roaming the streets and the neighboring houses looking pretty ran down or abandoned. The house itself was very beautiful and immaculate, the weather was cold and windy so we didn’t get to enjoy the deck by the river like we hoped. Over all a great stay and would recommend it to anyone!

Long Weekend On The River

Easy drive up to Cowles to spend the day fishing and 30 minutes to Santa Fe for a fun night out. Tom was a great host.

Beautiful home with stunning view!

Tom was a great host! We had a lovely stay at this home. It was great for four people. The two bedrooms had very comfortable queen beds with great pillows and just enough bedding to keep you from freezing or sweating. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you need, including some seasonings in the pantry. It had a Ninja coffee pot as well as Mr. coffee coffee pot. When in need of groceries, we stopped at Family Dollar or Dollar General as those are the closest(within 20ish miles) stores. It’s a short walk down to the river and Tom even provided us with fishing poles. One issue we ran into was the internet went out, and Tom helped us immediately. He was immediately available for anything we needed. Because it’s a small town, sometimes service is challenging, but Tom responded quickly and we got reconnected. The one thing you need to be aware of is if you have a car that is low to the ground, proceed with caution because the drive down to the house has a couple gullies. They are easily avoided, but just be aware. We can’t wait to go back!
