A literal roach motel

The first room we were in had black mold in the shower. We were woken up in the middle of the night with cockroaches crawling on us. The lady at the front desk switched us to a new room, but it was an overall downgrade, from a king bed to a full. Reaching out to management resulted in our concerns being totally brushed off, and left unaddressed. Overall, the experience was both disgusting and distressing, and I cannot in good faith reccomend this hotel.

Not fancy but comfortable & met our needs.

We stayed on the non beachfront side. Property is dated but was overall clean, beds were comfortable. Room had a full size fridge & stove. A/C was cold. Stayed here for Thunderbeach rally and met our needs, paved parking area. We liked that the pool was covered. Much cleaner & better then other options we have stayed at in the past & would stay here again.

The photos online are very misleading. You’re not staying in the building shown—they advertise it like a resort, but the actual place is called Palmetto Inn & Suites, and it’s across the street from the beach, not beachfront. It looks and feels more like a motel than a hotel. The exterior and layout were totally different from what I expected based on the listing. Definitely do your research and double-check before booking.
