Healthy and fresh breakfast provided by the hotel daily. Room was clean and thoughtfully designed with a very comfortable bed and a private terrace in the back which was great for letting in natural light without sacrificing privacy. Sparrows Lodge is the platonic ideal of a boutique hotel. Rustic rooms with big windows, the scent of rosemary everywhere you turn, a gently burbling water feature audible from any square foot of the property--these are all lovely. But it's the staff that makes this place special. They genuinely care whether or not you are having a good time. Old-school, detail-driven hospitality is dead in many places, but not at Sparrows Lodge. The breakfast is beautiful (they serve a salad! At breakfast! I could weep!), and the garden is the perfect place to enjoy a late-night drink. It's hard--actually hard--to find a place that feels worthy of completely unplugging from work, from Apple News alerts, from Instagram. This is it. Thank you to the whole staff (from management to groundskeeping) for creating a place worthy of the word "getaway."

Wow! All the stars possible for this absolutely perfect stay! From the moment we arrived, we realize this was a very, very special place. With the twinkling holiday lights, it felt truly magical.
