We were sold a luxury resort with all the photos of the grand mirage hotel basting gardens 6 pools and an amazing assortment of kids activities At no point on Expedia or the hotel website does it mention that the kids paradise is a completely separate hotel 200m along the beach It is tatty , concrete block and looks dated Rooms with garden view - this was a brick wall with a few trees The door to our balcony was sliding and didn’t quite meet in the middle and held with a flimsy latch that could be opened from the outside with ease The noise due to this at night kept us awake This was 2-3 star at best and if was advertised as such fine but all the adverts show the hotel 200m away which is the main resort Yes you can use their facilities like the breakfast buffet as the food at the family paradise was basic , but totally false advertising We were so disappointed as our taxi pulled up to a very small and dingy reception Not the grand entrance you expect at Bali and paid for Highly disappointed at the hotel but also at Expedia for not sharing this information

Very disappointing and underwhelming separate to other side of main hotel, (yes we can walk there through the beach but doesn’t feel like you are apart of the whole hotel) small and dirty and very expensive to eat/drink if you don’t do all inclusive

We stayed here for 5 nights (myself, my husband, 6yo & 2yo. It was clean, the staff were nice. The rooms were nice (mermaid room), although a bit dated but clean. We used kids club every day. Great for little kids (2yo loved the soft play area) but not for 6yo as it was mainly tv or computer games for older kids. The staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice. We were in the family section and the downside of breakfast was that they had lots of sweets (wrapped sugary sweets) on offer - so that wasn't great at 7.30am! We realised after a few days that we could just go to the breakfast in the other end of the hotel (non family part). It was much better (no candy!) and there was lots more on offer. We considered upgrading to all inclusive for the last few days but glad we didn't. The food in the hotel was pretty average, especially when we ordered for the kids and the nanny at the kids club. We got dinner in the hotel once and weren't tempted again. We went out every evening, got really nice food at different restaurants that were an easy walk and much cheaper. There were some great activities for kids like the turtle release & animal show. We were disappointed to miss the mermaid swimming as they only have it on Fridays so we'd just left. The water slides and pools were great. The last river is fantastic. We would recommend but I think you might get more for your money somewhere else esp in regards to food and kids club.

We had high expectations but found the family paradise underwhelming. The breakfast was lacking. The resort was dirty. The pool had so many tiles missing and popping off plus smelt mouldy. The new lazy river was dark and we couldn’t see our feet and smelt. Our room had a constant sewerage although they had multiple times to fix it. The only good thing, the kids club was a winner.

Stayed in the Family Paradise side - nice area, clean and most staff friendly. However very underwhelming with super expensive food and drinks menus, kids activities extra cost on top of a hefty accommodation price and give its meant to be kid friendly, yet no plastic cups when asked for which resulted in my son breaking a glass at breakfast and slicing his hand open.

Ok if you’ve got children with you.

Overall it was pretty good but let down by a few things. Not enough loungers around the adult pool area, didn’t like the flies all over the cocktail mixing area. Food was generally OK but sometimes things got behind at breakfast with missing items. Coffee not that great. Room service was a bit erratic. It’s nice to use loungers by the beach which also includes food & drinks service. Beach not really worth swimming in. Lots of things for children to do, in fact had we realised this place is aimed at families with kids might have gone somewhere else. Plenty of bars & restaurants close by if you want a change from hotel food. As a senior couple probably wouldn’t go there again but if you a hord of kids then probably worth it if you can h
