The Quonset - Large Unique home 1 mile to beach

This Gorgeous 1940s Quonset Hut was used to store ammunition. With only a handful left in the state and only a few thousand in the entire country, we just had to restore it to its former glory. Featuring 2,600 sq ft of character - from its moody paneled sitting room with a baby grand piano to its domed eat in kitchen with dining table that seats twelve - this property was meant for entertaining. The master bedroom boasts not only an ensuite bathroom but also a lounge seating area. There's even a secret room with bunk beds and a game room. While the cottage comfortably sleeps 8, we do offer a queen air mattress for 2 additional guests upon request. When the weathers nice, take it outside and enjoy the deck, firepit, and new hot tub or play a little ping pong in the game room. Only a quick ride to the beach. Pets must be approved by Moore House prior to booking and will incur a $150 Pet Fee. While we do not allow outside vendors on property, our team would love to plan and oversee an intimate event for you. ALL events must be approved by Moore House PRIOR to booking. If I could bottle up a trip memory, this would be it. Every aspect of this home is filled with character and thoughtful detail—you can truly feel the love that’s been poured into The Quonset Hut.From the moment you walk through the French doors off the deck, you’re immediately struck by its history, charm, and beauty. The warmth of the home draws you in, especially with all the little welcoming touches, fresh flowers with lemon water in every room, mini cupcakes, artisan bread, a charcuterie board, homemade apple cider, and fresh donuts. Not to mention the handwritten chalkboard greeting and personal note welcoming you and your guests—it all feels so intentional and special.This weekend was absolutely perfect. Our girls were never bored, and neither were we. From exploring the home and discovering the hidden game room to enjoying the fire pit and walking the beautiful property, every moment felt memorable.Sharon and the Moore family are truly exceptional. Their communication, care, and commitment to making your stay unforgettable are unmatched.If I could give this place a 10, I would in a heartbeat. It was an incredible experience, and we cannot wait to come back!

Fabulous special stay at the Quonset hut. It felt like we were living in a design magazine and appreciated all the special touches, handwritten notes, seasonal snacks and the exceptional attention to detail. Loved the hot tub, ping pong table and games. House was in a quiet special location not far from the water. Would highly recommend!

The Quonset House was a wonderful place for a family reunion for the ladies of the family - mothers, daughters, nieces, with cousins and sister-in-law joining us from their nearby homes. We loved the attention to detail and thoughtful decoration in the various rooms. The fire pit, the comfortable living room, and the huge kitchen/dining room got lots of use. Located well for our two days touring Bristol and Newport. This was the second stay for two of us and we look forward to another visit.

Magical place

The hosts went above and beyond with welcoming and thoughtful treats upon arrival. The house is unique, gorgeous and impeccably designed. It is also immaculate and has wonderful beds and linens. Fall Ladies Weekend

What an amazingly beautiful home! Meticulously clean, gorgeously decorated and amazing management. We were so impressed with check-in and what was left for us. Fresh cider donuts, mini-cupcakes, farm milk, eggs and apples, the addition of lemon-water in all bedrooms and classical music playing! I cannot explain enough just how beautiful this home is. The pictures are accurate, inside and out. We loved the hot tub, the twinkly lights throughout the home and the fire pit. All of us felt refreshed and relaxed by the time we left. Susan is very responsive, accommodating, communicative and professional. We highly recommend this home! Love, love, love!

Family Gathering in town for a Wedding

We came to town for our nephews wedding in Newport. While staying at the Quonset Hut with our 3 adult children and daughter’s boyfriend we also celebrated our son’s Birthday. We had more family over for the Birthday party, and it was such a fun space to celebrate! Everyone enjoyed the cozy atmosphere! We hadn’t gathered in many years, and the Hut It felt so homey!!!

Jamison’s New England vacation

I have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals, and this is the best I’ve ever stayed at by far! It was better than staying at a five star resort, every detail has been thought of. We were looking for a home base to be able to visit several towns along the coast and this was a perfect location. We were a short distance from Newport, New Bedford, Boston, and even spent a day at Martha’s Vineyard. It was great to be able to come home and relax by the fire in the hot tub, and the kids had a blast with the ping pong table and games. If you are thinking of booking, don’t hesitate! This was such a unique and wonderful experience, our family will remember it for years to come! So glad we were lucky enough to spend a few days here!

Cozy Christmas

Second time staying here and just as wonderful as the first time. Hosted Christmas Eve for my immediate family and the kitchen dining area was the perfect gathering space. The home had everything we needed to cook. We also love that it’s dog friendly for our small pup. Loved the Christmas tree and the inviting cheese platter (Delicious cheese) and cider. Exactly What We Hoped For...

When looking for a property for this particular family trip, we wanted a place where we could enjoy a home that encouraged conversation and relaxation. Our adult children met us at this property and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed with all the little touches. The kitchen is a great gathering area with a baby grand piano. We used the fire pit each night. Plenty of quality fire wood. The outdoor hot tub was nice during the cool November evenings. All the beds were comfortable with quality pillows and linens. Of course there were plenty of ping pong challenges in the separate game room. We are already are discussing our return trip. The house was well prepared and equipped for a truly satisfying stay. Our host was very responsive with any question we had. Great place to enjoy quality time with your loved ones!

Quonset Hut

This is a lovely property in a lovely spot. Our hosts went above and beyond with fresh lemonade, wonderful snacks and beautiful hydrangeas in every room. Mark even brought us a 7 pound zucchini the likes of which we had never seen. Two of us enjoyed kayaking, the rest of us enjoyed walking on the beach, Newport, Portsmouth, but most importantly the beauty and history of Tiverton. The piano was a wonderful asset!!

Beautiful Home

Beautiful home. Very welcoming, enjoyed the cider, cheese plate and s’mores set up. Very clean. This was a nice change from staying in a hotel when visiting family. House was very comfortable and lots of room. We plan to stay again our next visit.

Magical hideaway

Everything about our stay at the Quonset Hut exceeded expectations. Upon arrival, the property felt magical, as the owners had the outdoor tree lights lit and twinkling, and music playing from the Sonos speakers to welcome us, along with fresh cut flowers, and the fridge already stocked with fresh eggs, cream and milk, not to mention pancake mix and s’mores supplies! Our teenagers loved the mini cupcakes that were left out, and the ‘hidden’ bedroom. The design and decor of the Quonset Hut was what had drawn us to the space, and did not disappoint. The kitchen was Incredibly well stocked and it felt like there were surprises in every room. Beds were luxurious, spotless and comfortable. It was warm, and the owners quickly came and installed an air unit in the room for the kids, which was amazing. Both mornings for coffee and evenings for drinks and s’mores, we took advantage of the amazing outdoor space, with hot tub, stone fire pit area and plenty of comfortable seating. You are well set off the road and private, but with easy access (even in these odd times) to Gray’s Ice Cream, Evelyn’s for seafood, several local beaches and more. We also took the easy trip to Newport, where even more great options awaited the entire family. Communication was clear and the home was notably clean and sanitized, so we felt our safety was taken care of as well. We loved our stay at the Quonset Hut, and are looking forward to returning!

Holiday Escape

This very unique property is a delight to stay in. The Owners have provided every convenience to ensure a great experience. They were extremely responsive if there was a question or problem. The home is in a wonderful location for exploring lots of different activities. Even “stay at home” days were fun because of the hot tub, fire pit and plethora of games provided. I would definitely recommend this property!!!

Great long weekend getaway

We had a wonderful Girl’s Weekend st the Quonset. It is so perfectly decorated and homey. There were lots of welcoming surprises/ treats upon our arrival. You can tell There’s a lot of care and effort to make it a very special stay for each guest. We loved the hot tub especially on the cool fall nights when we were there. We did yoga one morning at the Quonset. It was so much fun to have the instructor come for a private class. We ventured out one day to a wine tasting at Greenvale Vineyards - beautiful spot. We went to the Boathouse for brunch on another day - great view and food. Our last day, after checkout we went to Newport for shopping and had lunch at a fantastic French brasserie Stoneacre. We would not recommend Black Goose Cafe (something like that) located right in Tiverton. We ate there for a quick bite when we first arrived. It was terrible. Every place else we went was great. We loved our Quonset stay!
