This place is new, clean, and super convenient, steps from the subway, with free street parking on weekends. The neighborhood is safe and has that trendy Brooklyn aesthetic (it can look gritty at first glance, but that’s the vibe).
I booked a city-view room on the 7th floor and was speechless. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the NYC skyline, I could even see the Empire State Building. Yes, you’ll hear some city sounds (sirens, traffic), but that’s typical New York and not a safety issue. I’ve stayed in Manhattan and heard just as much.
Service was warm and thoughtful. I was greeted with a Halloween goodie bag (socks, candy, self-care items), such a sweet touch, and they offered complimentary drinks on the rooftop and in the lobby. I felt secure in my room with a latch and deadbolt, plus an in-room safe for valuables. Housekeeping on the 7th floor deserves a raise, the room was immaculate and the towel art in the bathroom and on the bed was cruise-ship level.
The room was spacious, no, there’s not a writing desk with a chair, which it didn’t bother me at all. The bathroom is huge, it was clean, it had three dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
I’m not sure why some reviews complain. If you want ultra-luxury, book a five-star hotel. If you want a stylish, comfortable, well-located stay with great views and kind staff, Nova Hotel is a fantastic choice. I’d absolutely stay again.
