This hotel does not look like the photos advertised—customers should be aware. The location is not good, and the property consistently smelled of marijuana. We chose our room based on the photos posted by the hotel, which showed an average-sized sofa that appeared to convert into a queen or full bed. Instead, we were given a very small twin bed.
When we asked about this, staff claimed the furniture was “newer,” which was not true. The sofa was old, stained, and extremely uncomfortable. I asked for a room change or a rollaway bed, and they were unwilling to help or make any accommodations.
Our room was not located with the other standard rooms; it was in a basement area next to what appeared to be a staff-only or personal area, which was dirty. There was also a fire alarm light constantly flashing and going off.
Upon arriving in the lobby, it was filthy, and there was no staff present to direct guests. There were no signs indicating that you must go upstairs to reach the main entrance. When we finally spoke to the front desk, the staff were extremely rude—acting as if I wasn’t standing in front of them, remaining on their personal phones, and speaking in another language to each other, which felt very disrespectful.
Additionally, the toilet in our room was clogged upon arrival, and we had to locate a plunger and fix it ourselves.
We came to New York for the Christmas experience, and this stay was far from what we expected or paid for.
